Following up on my Pulitzer-winning thread covering the Bamco Direct last month I've decided to cover Nintendo's Partner Direct, which is an outlet for third-party ports and new announcements that aren't actual exclusives but look good in a showcase anyways. As such, I kept my expectations at ankle height.
Persona 3 Reload (Switch 2)
This was initially announced in 2023 just days after I finished playing FES. Don't have much else to say I just thought that was funny.
Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted (Switch 1&2)
I don't really have anything snarky to say about this one. Looks fine.
Dragon Ball Sparking Zero (Switch 1&2)
I would have flipped my shit over this in middle school when Budokai Tenkaichi 3 was the new hotness, but Dragon Ball just never stuck with me like it does for others. I'm sure Sparking Zero is cool though.
Once Upon a Katamari (Switch)

Octopath Traveler 0 (Switch 1&2)
I'm getting really tired of the HD2D shtick but it's integral to Octopath's visual identity so I can't really fault the game for that. I enjoyed 1 for the most part, and the dozen hours I played of 2 were even better. Consider me moderately intrigued, but I hope they mix up the battle system a little bit.
Yakuza Kiwami 1 & 2 (Switch 2)
The cruel irony of Yakuza is that starting with 0 gives you such a high that Kiwami 1 (which is already kind of dull imo) can't live up to it in any capacity. Kiwami 2 is great though, arguably on par with 0 in my opinion.
Monster Hunter Stories 3 (Switch 2)
I bought 2 on sale ages ago and only played two hours before thinking "yeah, this is cool and everything, but I'm not really feeling it". Wilds was so aggressively mid that my interest in the franchise is on thin ice, but I'm sure MHS3 will be fine.
Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac (Switch 2)
I was wondering if they'd bother remastering this. From what I've heard Pac-Man World 2 is a solid platformer for the time, and I've always had a faint itching to play it. I might pick this up when it's on sale for $20 or so.

Just Dance 2026 (Switch 2)
I don't have anything against these games (it's probably the least odious franchise Ubisoft still keeps up with) but I'm a hardcore gamer, damn it. I use terms like "kusoge" and own a Dreamcast.
Apex Legends (Switch 2)
To me this is the ultimate "I really don't want to play this crap but my coworker/friend/life partner wants me to join them and I don't want to come across as a dick" game. Insert obligatory request for Titanfall 3 here.
Hitman Absolution (Switch 1&2)
To be fair this was announced right before the Direct and wasn't actually part of the conference, but I still find it really funny they're going out of their way to rerelease the Hitman everyone absolutely hated. Hopefully we'll get that rerelease of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 too!
EA Sports FC 2026 (Switch 2)
I'm a basketball kind of guy. The only thing I know about futbol is the Twitter account that showcases stadium scran across the world.
EA Sports Madden NFL 26 (Switch 2)
The game of choice for the kids who called me a queer in high school. And here I thought 2025 was the year they'd take a break releasing these!

Overall, a solid B showing. Most of these announcements don't matter to me anyways since I primarily play on PC (and don't plan on getting a Switch 2 any time soon) but Once Upon a Katamari is doing most of the heavy lifting here (We Love Katamari is my favorite game of all time). It's nice to see Octopath is still trucking along. But what do you think?
