What is nihilism in the first place? The doctrine that nothing matters and our life is limited
What is ACTUAL nihilism? you may thing Nietzche was advocating to fatalist pessimism, but reading after recovering from a anxiety attack after 2020 made me realize anything could go wrong, i learned he actualy advocated for be able to fill said void
When you think nihilism, you will mostly see, especially in fiction land, a character that claims nothing matters and we should just die or twist the "No morality" rule and become jerks using as a excuse, as a nihilst myself, i can say
HELL NO
Nihilism is accepting we are a blanc canvas, empty, white, pointless
Fake nihilism will despair about the empty canvas, but Nietzche and Nihilist will decide "Screw it" and fill it of the beauty of colors
The whole "We are gonna die"? Does it is actually bad? Eventually running of stuff to do for me is like hell
"Life is only misery and cruelty" Then you won't know you have a happiness to contrast the misery
"Life is a Void of pointlessness" Then we can fill the void
Actually i find the concept of life not having clear objetives liberating, no clear target, good, that mean i can be myself with only human decency, budget and my imagination limiting me, viewing life as pointless because it's "Empty" is like a bottle, why complain it's empty while you can fill it with some tasty liquid and drink it yourself?
A Light in the darkness: I may found this as a coping mechanism,my childhood was good, but middle school was hell, at leas the first two (Of three here in Mexico) bullying was relentless and the staff was a poorly educated mess, fortunately we found a cheaper, FAR better school and finished happily, with High School being Online, fortunately i got the help i needed to overcome the bullying... then 2020 came, "The Virus" made me fear for my parents' health, eventually it came down like a Domino trail into a crisis wher i feared death in general, fortunately my big sis told me about a good Therapist online, and i finished bot Online school and treatment learning about not fearing the eventual end of everything, researching on cases similar to me i found about nihilism, and i joined the Doctrine
Mono No aware: As mentioned before, everything just ending... is not a big deal to me, Memento Mori, think of it like Chrismas, cool and beautiful, right? you wish everyday to be chrismas... until you realize that will mean it will be a routine and what makes it special, the uniqueness, will be gone, that is what Mono No Aware and Memento Mori means, accepting we won't do everything may sounds gloomy, but in grand scheme of things, you WILL enjoy what you achieved

And wrong he wasn't, our limited time means we will be only here 80 years tops, but your actions will surely outlive you, some good some bad, but eventually you will be remembered one way our other when you return to nothingness, so just like with your living time, make your best to leave that one chance into something great
Negative aspect of conflating "Nihilism" with pesimism
Generalizing nihism with only negativity not only harms it's image, but also those unrelated, people will dismiss any depresion that requires help whit just a "Nihilist phase" and dismiss those who needs help until is too late, or worse, will rationalize ther jerkiness/ flat out evil with "people will die anyway and life is meaningless" believing it less out of true belief and out of having "carte blanche" to mess around, people with even less information about nihilism will mistake it for atheism... ignoring there is in fact Religious Nihilist, hech, the most famous line of Nietzche "God is dead and we killed him" was a CALLING OUT of atheism

You will die eventually: So hurry up and have a good life
Religion is fine as long as is nothing bad or harmful
You will be remenbered not for what you said, but for what you did
Beliefs are not excuses to be a jackass
Be yourself
Don't reduce a concept to only what appears on TV
