New Ecco game in the works has a website with a countdown clock

oh god no... just let Ecco Die... like how the AVGN finished him off. (wish i had a gif of the AVGN nerd doing what he did to Ecco...)

The countdown says 6,767 hours, which will be 22 Apr 2026 (at least in my timezone).

Whilst I would prefer a new 3D Ecco game, I know it's going to be a 2D Sequel to Tides of Time as that's what Ed Annunziata has been trying to make for literal decades.

Any new Ecco media is welcomed, its a franchise who's atmosphere is unmatched.
Part whimsical fantasy, part unnerving horror. Perfectly balanced.

This can either be awesome... or a bundle of roms packaged together with a cutesy subtitle.
"Ecco the Dolphin: ReSplashed collection" or something...
It... yeah, it's going to be a bundle of roms....

I'm one of the few diehard Ecco the Dolphin fans in this world, and I'm very excited for this. However, I think first impressions are going to be very important here. I'm dreading it looking like some bland, 2.5D game with an empty background. So like as it's visually interesting and has a solid soundtrack, I'm willing to tolerate whatever gameplay they want

yeah but they never rereleased the Sega CD versions, did they? I mean we got ports of the Lunar games for Switch, i don't see why not.

I'm not expecting anything big to be honest.

I know I couldn't play it (if it's released on a certain console or something), or maybe can be a disappointed turn of event, but I'm hyped for this very dolphin to make a comeback.

Ecco is something I would play because I don't have much to do but also I play shitty games cause I just want to(ex. Bubsy 3d) though mostly I play actually good games

Sega give me metroidvania style ECCO, with a Spencer Nilsen inspired soundtrack, a beautiful blue ocean with lots of caverns to explore as well as foreboding alien labyrinths and I will be happy.
