Well, they've finally done it.
After 10 years of production, you can now play over 100 NES games in full 3D with this emulator, 3dSen.

Has anyone gotten it yet? If so, what are your thoughts on it, does it run well?

For an FC~NES emulator with a 3D perspective it's quite an achievement and makes games feel like they're 2.5D games but with a 3D camera, you know Smash Style.
Reminds me a bit of this, to be honest

Apparently you have to pay for it.
But no doubt it is but a matter of time before someone cracks it and releases it to the public.

Seems kinda sketch to me to be selling a Nintendo emulator.

Actually I don't have any way to give them money, but if I could I would like to support such amazing project.

I'm surprised steam allows it considering dolphin was removed.

Where have you seen that they are 100?
If you have seen the list, could you share the link, or the list here? :-)

I remember seeing this when it was just coming out.
It seems like about five years ago, but I might be wrong. Doesn't matter.
I tried it out, and it gave me a terrible headache no idea why.

But it just felt weird playing NES games in that awkward perspective.
I don't know if it's better now, but I'm not paying for a niche emulator.

Actually, you can sell any emulator as long as it doesn't use the copyrighted code of the makers, like Nintendo's code for running NES games.

That's why they can sell NES/Famiclones legally, so long as no copyrighted games are included with them e.g. Zelda or Mario.
If it's your own game, you can.

From Google when searching "legally sell your own nes emulator legal statement"

Selling a Self-Made NES Emulator:
  • Emulator Creation: If you have developed your own NES emulator, built without utilizing Nintendo's proprietary code, you are generally free to sell it. This is distinct from selling emulators based on existing free software licenses like GNU, which would be illegal without proper licensing.
  • Avoiding Copyright Infringement: Your emulator should not include or provide access to illegal ROMs. It's crucial to emphasize that users are responsible for obtaining ROMs legally.
  • Trademarks: Do not use Nintendo's trademarks (like the NES logo, specific game titles, or character names) in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without their express permission.

I still remember when it was still called 3DNES.

And for some games it struggled like Kirby's Adventure because of the layers.

Still surreal to see 2.5D-ified games thanks to that emulator. I'd love to see the same with the Genesis, SNES and even the PC Engine.
