I'm loading up albums onto my iPod, but I have a ton of space left. I'd like to fill that space with album recommendations from you guys.

Genre and artist are irrelevant here, all that matters to me is that this recommendation comes from your soul. I'll take albums you just like, but I'm really looking for ones that live inside you.

EP "Day After Day" and album "SUNRISE" by FreQuency would be my recommendation. FreQuency is FromSoftware in-house band, and these two EP/album features chill and nice vibe music that could cleanse the poison inside you.

Put Armeria on repeat, and starts your life with a Lemontea.

I gotchu, homie.

If you want something exotic and different in the alt-rock world, here's Alt-J's first album, An Awesome Wave. It's unique, packed with personality, and if you can decipher their lyrics, they say some things that will stick with you for a long time.

All of their albums are great, but they do start trending away from this style into something a little more grounded by the time you reach their most recent release, The Dream (which is my favorite, but is also really divisive).

Next is Glass Animals's How to Be A Human Being. These guys are...hip hop? Alt-rock? House? They're their whole, own thing and while I think their music is pretty dumb, it's also so much goddamn fun. This album is my favorite of theirs, but their next album, Dreamland is also great stuff. Maybe don't bother with I Love You So F***ing Much, 'cause it sounds super different and is pretty shallow.

And finally, my last recommendation is an album I just came into contact with by the band Wolf Alice, called The Clearing. It's so varied and almost every track changes to something completely different than what it started with seamlessly. It's hard to get bored while listening.

Enjoy!

According to last.fm these are my top four most listened albums so I'll put them.

my bloody valentine - Loveless
Cocteau Twins - Heaven or Las Vegas
The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground and Nico
The Cure - Disintegration

My 3 personal favorites.

I'll second Mint Jams! Helps if you're into Japanese Jazz Fusion, though 😉

Reminds me of a sign I saw in Japan once. Record stores over there get slammed by all the gaijin coming in looking for the same damn thing. One shop owner had apparently had enough of foreigners asking for Casiopea... 😆

I admire their taste, though! I also have that Oingo Boingo record, along with that Ryuichi Sakamoto in the upper right. Not sure I'd shell out 12,000 Yen for it, though...

On topic!

I'm a little late to the party, but I recently fell in love with Future Funk. Been buying plenty of albums on Bandcamp, and will happily recommend these three:

Well, if the genre doesn't matter, then I'll give you some variety ::cirnoshrug

St. Vincent - All Born Screaming (pure funky musicianship, love it)
Converge - Axe to Fall (banger album that's hard to not listen to from start to finish)
Mastodon - Crack the Skye (one of the best metal albums ever made, musically and thematically)
Mass of the Fermenting Dregs - No New World (you probably know their World is Yours album due to the striking cover art and how it blew up, but this one is also great and I keep returning to it)

This one holds a special place in my heart

It has some campy rock music in it, insanely soulful environmental music to it, and a lot of heart! Everything a growing boy needs!

Its not a álbum, just 16 minutes of pure emotion withound voice.

I think last year was really rough for music overall, but a highlight from 2025 was Clipse’s first album in over a decade, and one of their strongest.

It’s nice to hear hip hop from two older men, brining a non-contemporary style, but often rapping about their learned life experiences. It’s like a movie, it really is. Album tells a subtle story over the course of its runtime and it’s so good.

Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes

Music that reminds you that its okay to feel things, always means the most to me. This album along with a few others is how I got through childhood without reaching critical mass.

Synthwave but it gets increasingly more nostalgic
