Welcome to the only thing I would watch when I was 17 xD

You could say that I love the unholy hell out of MBs... and you'd be absolutely right — there's something deeply engaging about it that I haven't seen replicated anywhere else, despite its massive success and groundbreaking nature.

It feels like an early YouTube channel that was given the budget of a lead Hollywood studio to work with, and the end result is one of the most wonderful things you'll ever witness.

... And I just found out that they uploaded full episodes to YouTube :0!

Anyway! Thoughts?

I loved that show when I was a kid.

Just a bunch of guys using myths as excuses to blow things up, and do wacky science. A thinking man's Jackass if you will.

Literally the only reason I gave a shit about Discovery channel.

Adjacent to MythBusters kinda (which I never got to watch much of: my brother would hog the TV for something else!) but I remember the yearly "Punkin Chunkin" documentaries over the years by various people were always interesting. The idea is that you have a pumpkin, and you need to shoot it as far as you can without the force of whatever machine you're using destroying the pumpkin (the pumpkin, of course, *will* be destroyed on impact with the ground, however). It's just guys and gals playing with trebuchets and steam cannons. Great stuff.

I remember watching it, I think it was during my pre-teen years, when I was watching The Simpsons and an episode came on that parodies them. My favorite show is also Pawn Stars.

MythBusters, Overhaulin', American Chopper, Scrubs, and That '70s Show were my "I'm unemployed but slightly less miserable" starter pack. Good times.

I highly recommend Stuck with Hackett. Basically he goes to an abandoned location and uses whatever junk and trash he can find to construct devices to make himself comfortable or entertained.

I watched a couple of episodes back in the day, it was didactic and fun, maybe it's time to revisit them. Regarding parodies, i'm a big fan of this one:

Well, that's the only way I will ever refer to Mythbusters from now on...
Honestly forgot this show existed. Always liked watching whatever they were doing... I should watch it again!

And yes, I know it was originally from the movie The Dungeonmaster.
I rather enjoyed MythBusters when it was on originally. I always liked the episodes with Grant Imahara myself, He was an interesting and fascinating electrical engineer and roboticist. It was rather sad that he passed away.
