My first hack (nothing fancy)

I posted a thread before about my favorite Dragon Ball game intro. I thought it’d be cool to revisit the game, but this time the NTSC release, since it features English menus, voices, etc. The only thing holding me back was the American intro. It completely killed my desire to play this version, that’s how disappointed I was compared to the Japanese intro of Dragon Ball: Final Bout I grew up with.

So I put the Japanese intro into the NTSC version. Not sure if this counts as a romhack, but it's officially my first one, and hopefully the beginning of something greater. We all have to start somewhere, and I just wanted to celebrate with y’all.


I know the game isn’t that good, and no one was really waiting for this, but at least I’m gonna enjoy it.

Counts for me! It's really sad when international releases of Japanese games get their cool opening or ending songs replaced by crap, so people who restore that are HEROES!

Honestly, for your first hack, it's fine, buddy, but the intro of Dragon Ball: Final Bout is still epic.

I tried doing this once, but PS1 ISO modding proved to be a bit more complex than I anticipated, even for a simple file swap.

As a compromise, I settled for downloading both the European and American versions and putting them on my Miyoo Mini, since the European release has the Japanese intro/voices with English text.

It was the same for me at first, and it took much longer than I expected. Good to see I'm not the only one who can enjoy this mod. If you're interested, let me know. I'm just not sure how to share it properly.
