Conceptually speaking, I think it's great. Kicking the soccer ball at enemies to defeat them or using as a makeshift trampoline to reach higher areas is unique for a platformer of its era.
The game itself isn't anything to write home about, unfortunately. The graphics are a bit inconsistent. While Marko's animations are surprisingly smooth, the backgrounds are simplistic and you'll see a lot of the same brown, green, and red in the color scheme. Kicking the ball isn't quite as reliable as you would think it is. There will be so many times where you'll miss your target and you can only kick one ball at a time. Yes, there's a button to spawn another ball, but it only seems to work until after the previous ball has been despawned. Also, turning around while holding the ball is pretty slow.
It's nowhere near as bad as some other platformers like Bubsy or Aero the Acro-Bat, but I still find it difficult to recommend this one. Maybe if you're a soccer fan or if you like "Soccer Kid/Kid Kleets."
