What do you think about love stories in games ?
Super Lesbian Animal rpg /jHmm, I think in theory I'd appreciate a good romance plot, but I don't think I've as yet played a game that had a believeable romance in it that resonated with me or captured any real emotional connection. I can think of a couple good friendship stories at least.
I don't really go into games looking for a good story anymore though, so I'm definitely not casting a wide net in that regard.
Now you have me curious though - would anyone on here happen to have a recommendation for a game with a well-written, believeable romane in it?
I really should not be surprised that a game with this title actually exists, let alone that it actually seems to have some quite high-effort sprite art in it.Super Lesbian Animal rpg /j
Relationships in Cyberpunk 2077 are very complex, very short, and very mixed. You probably have to play the game to understand what i mean, lolHmm, I think in theory I'd appreciate a good romance plot, but I don't think I've as yet played a game that had a believeable romance in it that resonated with me or captured any real emotional connection. I've kind of given up on looking for a good story in gaming in general though, so I'm definitely not exactly casting a wide net in that regard.

I played quite a lot of that game, but I mostly did sidequests and the like. Never actually got far into the main storyline or the romances - I'll put it on my list again!Relationships in Cyberpunk 2077 are very complex, very short, and very mixed. I'm convinced at this point that you speedrun this game every single night.Super Lesbian Animal rpg /j
love is truly in the air <3Speaking plainly as a kaiju moderator? I *love* love.
Not that I can think of a ton of games that fit the bill for what I like....actually, wild card!

Days Gone is a pretty mediocre ass game. The depiction of Oregon is faithful and gorgeous, but you don't have a ton of actually *do* in that world. The plot is a bit underwhelming, the open world stuff is cookie-cutter, and for a game about a guy repping an MC, there isn't much customization of your bike. It's also the slowest paced game of it's genre I've ever played, hands down. The single best gameplay element - exterminating massive hordes of zombies in various locations around the map - is mostly locked until you've damn near finished the story. (You *can* attempt them, but all the fun tools and the actual quest objectives don't show up till the endgame).
Allllll of that said? They *fucking* nailed a romance....somehow. Getting into the details requires spoiling some things, and it's already hard enough getting through the boring ass, uh, 20+ hours of buildup as is. I'll just say I'm surprised how much I was rooting for these idiots by the time I finished.
I really liked the Laguna/Julia/Raine side story from Final Fantasy 8, but I'm a sucker for tragic love crapI'm a simple one as well and I like love stories, especially the ones with good endings :)
Of course, they must have their place in the plot (game, movie, book, whatever story they're in).
About games, I liked a lot making videos with clips from FF8 (Rinoa x Squall) and FF10 (Tidus x Yuna), focusing on their lovestories; I also enjoyed scenes of Nobunaga x No from Samurai Warriors, though that's another kind of love (more dangerous, perhaps?). Oh, and what about the romantic scenes of Oswald x Gwendolyn in their routes in Odin Sphere?
I'll be honest this answer really struck with my own core of always needing a story to unwind with no matter if it's one I'm drawing up with my head or trash to laugh it to hide it's thinly veiled horny plot and appeal that I rearranged my Steam Library to try to find a recommendation. So far probably mature and thoughtful forms of writing with romantic elements would be Snoot Game (not on steam) and it's unofficial but official sequel I Wani Hug that Gator. There is also Angels with Scaley wings which is more packed with elements I don't want to spoil on. Uuultra C is probably the last and dubious thing I can mention here as it's a pure Kinetic Novel experience but what it makes up for in choice and sprites it certainly makes up for presentation reading more like a manga than a proper VN. 2 things to note is that it is a BL novel and it has sexual scenes and while most BL would be a turn off due to it's depiction of relationships with little respect to proper gay representation I don't see it as BL novel but more character studies separated by 3 main characters each with their own chapters as they tell a greater story of Kaijus and heros that fight them all in Japan's 70's Showa period. As for romance the only good and healthy one would be in the first chapter which is roughly 4 hours? It's short and I desperately wanted more of their daily lives but I enjoyed their dynamic when it appeared.Hmm, I think in theory I'd appreciate a good romance plot, but I don't think I've as yet played a game that had a believeable romance in it that resonated with me or captured any real emotional connection.
