Gregory Horror Show, where you go around collecting the souls of the inhabitants of the Gregory House. it's really fun and faithful to the source material, it's even made by Capcom! i think Spongebob Battle For Bikini Bottom is one that a lot of people talk about, but it's for good reason. i didn't really grow up with spongebob (or tv at all for that matter, since i didn't have cable), and i didn't grow up with the game either. yet, when i played it in 2020, i got SUPER into it and had a great time. a lot of people say that fans of BFBB are clouded by nostalgia, but i guess im proof that that's not the case. i guess Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei counts, it's an NES RPG based on the sci-fi horror novels of the same name by Aya Nishitani. it's really funny to me that the entirety of the Megaten series, including Persona, only exists because of a licensed NES dungeon crawler based on some books. Snoopy Concert is a really unique one, it's a point and click adventure game based on the Peanuts comics and TV specials. they did a fantastic job translating the visual style of Charles Schulz to the SNES, and the music was done by Hip Tanaka, most well known for working on the Earthbound soundtrack. it's probably one of my favorite SNES games, though it is really weird how it's a Japan exclusive... there's a fan translation done by our lord and savior Aeon Genesis, but it's still weird all the same.
