Hi guys i'm new around here but i'm playing with translated games for years and one thing that surprise me is that no games related to the work of the late Leiji Matsumoto has never been translated i'm talking here of all his universe (The Story of Galaxy Express 999 and Cosmo Warrior zero (that one doesn't have much text in it) and Saraba Uchuu Senkan Yamato on PSX) Yes i know there are too mucj games that needs to be translated but i wonder if someone who has been rased on the galaxy express 999 and captain harlock series would be willing to translate them as they are very interesting thanks

Well sometimes I see such posts written as if it's "easy" to translate game and why there is no translation of games are because "no one bothered". In the reality sometimes the real issue is how it's impossible to translate for various reasons, other aspect is it's so near to impossibility no one wanna waste their life for it. It's relatively way easier to hack your brain to understand Japanese than hack lots of video games to translate them lol.

It's sometimes near impossible to translate games because imagine the whole game is a building, the ordinary in-game text like "How you doing?" is so "in" the video game itself making any change in this text collapses whole building. Because of it part of translating games are also in the way "kinda rewriting the game regarding how strings are used" that depends on heavy reverse-engineering so much even the developer of the video game sometimes cannot reverse-engineer the game. Because it's like the code you write to develop the game is cooking a cake with egg, flavor, chocolate, sugar and then you cook it so the developed game is a cake. Reverse engineering game is like analysing the cake and determining what kind of atoms and physical and chemical energy bonds it contains to understand what kind of ingredients used to produce the cake. Then to make any change about it you gotta be "god of physics master" so you can make any change by bending space-time and travelling back in time by manipulating the Higgs' field and fabric of existence lolol. It's not always possible to translate games, man. You are only in the luck when strings are not so tied to the game itself and you don't bump into technical impossibility to change the font of the game. Making such changes in games seem like you take a guy and turn the guy into a dog lol.

Now now, I know learning languages is not an answer but there are emulators or programs that translate games for you if you use a PC. These are very easier ways instead of translating the game in this modern age.

Well one thing i would tell you is that decompilation projects exists so nothing is undoable as far as the game is coded yes it might takes time but sometimes the result doesn't matter but the journey is
