Did you have a good 2025? Is it closing out in style? Any great things happened? Or maybe it wasn't so good and you are just glad to see it go? There are no wrong answers here except those opposed to this place being renamed to "Waffleland", with me as its supreme leader -- those can suck it.

Personally, I think it was a good year. I made some progress in some areas that deeply needed it and managed to have good times with my family... Can't really complain!

What about you?

I'm just going to post my reflection of this year that I posted elsewhere here:

I'm not sure if I would call it a good year, I had a lot of ups and downs.
What I can highlight is that I met a lot of people here and on Discord, and I got to talk and engage with others much more than what I've been in years.
Didn't think I'd ever done all that and that I would last until 2026 on RGT.

An entire roller-coaster that I can say had a lots up and some very low downs. I can say that it was a really interesting year. (despite how freaking cursed and out of control in the back half).
I would say that I enjoyed my time and I really hope that 2026 would be better than what 2025 has brought. (For my sake and others as well.)

2025 was a heavy year.
I lost things, I lost people, and at times I even lost parts of myself. It was a year of endurance, not victory. I learned more by taking hits than by celebrating — and that’s fine, because lessons that come easy rarely take root.

But I’m not here to talk only about what went wrong. Even in the worst experiences, something remains. In what I lost, I also gained: I gained knowledge, I gained clarity, and I grew wiser. I managed to start some personal projects, and in October I began taking part in this incredible forum, which became a steady ground in the middle of the chaos.

2025 may have been rock bottom. But when you reach the bottom, you learn something simple: from there on, the only direction left is up. It was a hard year — but a necessary one, meant to prepare me for what the rest of life still holds. And my instincts tell me that 2026 is waiting with real change ahead.

I leave this final line to all those still walking this world:
“Fight with the will to win. Fight with virtue. And if you fall, get back up — and punch fate straight in the face.”

I'll probably beat Xenoblade 1 in 2026. I beat both Xenoblade 2 and Azure Striker Gunvolt in Summer 2025. Maybe when my Steam Deck's fixed, I can finally take a crack at all my new games + trying to beat Etrian Odyssey II on Basic. Yakuza 0 I can beat at any time, but then I'd miss out on the side quests. I think I left Persona 5 Strikers in that same position years ago. I really gotta finish everything in that game too. I think I'm also getting closer to the end of Neon White.

All while I will be woefully behind current trends, I'm never playing Expedition 33 at this point, not when I now have Persona 5 Royal, an Atelier game, 3 Wizardry games, Etrian Odyssey HD, all Blazblue games, Post Void, Wings of Vi, and a Superhot game. Also Ace Combat 7 but holy shit the gigabytes. Maybe when I find a way to actually play that, I'll go crazy.

I really had a good one! Not in a million years that I’d expand my online social circle as I did now. Probably the peak for me is that I ended up being a member of the Writers Guild. Me a guy who haven’t wrote anything in my whole life except for some book reports and essays. Now I’m terrorizing the forum with my yapping and some occasional cringe poetry at Cap’n @Zerpina ‘s profile.

Yup, there’s been some changes happened since I joined in last December. I met a lot people said goodbye to some, I witnessed a lot ups and downs. In exactly 11 hours from now (at least where I’m at) fireworks will light up that midnight another book is closed while another one will start to flip its pages.

Love that you are here, man.
