What your definition of "OMG! What did they do this?!" when it comes to the music you listen to.

My biggest gripes are when a song either starts out in Mono, completely silent for a few seconds or noticeably quieter than the one that came before it.

They all destroy the flow and rhythm left by the previous songs on my random playlist and one makes me actively check my headphones for damage until they get it back to Stereo.

Not good, guys.

What about you?

i've yet to see such an issue to be honest. if you use streaming services for music then i'm not suprised....

although fyeld's self titled album has terrible mixing.

Sega Ports, before Saturn and Dreamcast.

The latest Iron Maiden record Senjutsu, particularly the song 'Stratego' sounds like it's been mixed by a partially deaf high-schooler who just discovered Audacity.
That screeching guitar doubling the vocal melody makes me go insane, it's so abysmally loud and dogshit. It's a good song other than that but the mix makes it plummet straight to hell.

It's a shame because it's a legit excellent album in general.

Only the usual loudness wars stuff mildly irritates. When I play an MP3 and the spectrum analysis is basically a clipped-to-hell wall with flat top and bottom, it's just stupid. Blasting the dynamic range to hell for no good reason (inb4 radio and cheap rigs, I know).
