Katekyo Hitman REBORN!

When Ppl ask what my favorite WSJ Battle Shonen is have my favorites like HunterXHunter, One Piece and Houshin Engi but my N1 favorite gotta be Katekyo Hitman REBORN!. I know this series doesn't have the best story/characters and the best worldbuilding from Shonen Jump but i still really love it. When i first saw a picture of Tsuna with the X Gloves and the Dying Will Flame in its head i thought that was coolest thing in the world back then and i had to check this out and man i really had fun with KHR, the characters were charming, the battles and the power system was very creative when you remember that the series was just a Gag manga in the beginning and the whole art and aesthetic of it being so colorful also helped. Back when it ended in 2012, i didn't like the ending at all but lately i thought it was fine because at the end of the day all that really matters is the journey.

I really like it, i watched it after it finished airing, way back when i was first figuring out how to watch subbed anime, it will always have a special place in my heart, its not amazing nor does it have the hypests fights, KHR is silly and it knows it, but its creative and it does have its moments, it is great, but i do admit is an acquired taste.

Its hard to recommend due to the first arc being a gag anime, the amount of times i had to tell my friends "Wait for the Varia arc, it gets good, trust me, trust the plan."

It didn't properly end, it was cancelled, which is a shame, but at least, i can say that i do like it for what it does.

GOD I LOVE KATEKYOU HITTO MAN REBOOOORNNN! Boys and Girls and 88 by LM.C are some of my favourite anime openings ever. I have the majority of this manga in English on my shelf (though funnily enough not Volume 1). I actually really love that the first part of it is a gag manga, it kinda reminds me of how Muv-Luv's first act is basically a gag manga before going into crazy alien mecha stuff.
