I think the difference beyond being a simple limited edition of the game is that it includes all the championship teams from the NFL seasons from '66 to '92.

Just read about this one over on Sega Retro. Unlike the previous installments, this one wasn't readily available upon its initial release as it was a rental exclusive. It DID eventually receive a general release, though only to the first 1,000 telephone orders.
