It was kinda obvious I guess :/ the switch 2 has been a massive success too, it already sold 10 millon units in less than 6 months, that's kinda crazy considering the price of the hardware and software is quite high

Not too surprising with a new console launch being successful. I feel last-gen only hung on as long as it did for Playstation and XBox due to covid and current-gen console shortages during the first couple years. Not to mention a lack of new games is a common criticism of the Switch 2 right now, so they probably want to change that.

well, it's pretty obvious that Switch 2 will be the main focus for First Party while Switch 1 in First Party will just get remasters and few low-scale games just like 3DS's last years

Yes, it was foreseeable that something like this would happen. And it's also logical that Nintendo wants to make its new console big. But I don't think the Switch 1 is at its end now; I think it still has a few years left.

The Switch is already almost a decade old, it's obvious that they had to move on from it. If they still continued to focus on the NS1 even if the NS2 came out that would bring the same issues that Sony had with the PS4 being still supported when the PS5 was around.

Also people would say that they'd be milking the Switch if they were still going to make games in 2026.

I don't know how Open Worlds are being programmed but aren't there hidden loading points in Skyrim and other games of the genre to make it easier on the RAM?

If we look at the past nintendo consoles' life cycle, we see that they always stop being produced between one or two years after the release of the new generation, nothing new.

I remember that when the Wii was out since it was backward compatible they quickly shifted their focus on it while the Gamecube was done.

And the Wii U since it didn't work that well so they put everything into the Switch.
