Is there a way to use ps3 controller for playing games on MacBook?

Just what the title says. Is it possible? In a simple world, this would work just by connecting it to the USB port, but I don't know if that would work. I saw somewhere else there is a toolkit you can install, but I just found the PC version and not for Mac. I'd like to have the emulator on my laptop and use the ps3 controller instead of the keyboard.

Also, are there any apps for the iPhone where it converts your phone into a game controller? That would be another option if it would work.

There are adapters out there. Not too pricey from what I've seen. Just Google 'PS2 controller to USB adapter' and I'm sure you'll find one that works for you.

ya I seen them (I ask for one on Xmas) but it always says Win and ps3 and people say you need drivers for it but, you cant install drivers on Mac is I just don't know if it works in the first place

Depends on your macOS, I've paired my Xbox, Dualsense & Switch Pro pad to it.

So far, I haven’t been able to get the Bluetooth to work, but I was able to use my ps3 controller by leaving it plugged into the USB port. So that’s something at least.

IIRC, Apple removed support for PS3 controllers via bluetooth like 3 or 4 years ago.

Thanks! Yeah, I eventually found that they don’t support Bluetooth anymore.

I’m satisfied just playing with it connected to my laptop. That’s good enough for me.
