Is there a way to play SMT 3 on a PS2 (not emu) using USB OPL?

Currently the Game freezes at the first battle...I really want to play this version

which version of OPL are you using? Whichever it is try a different one.
Haven't tried USB myself but I can tell you it works fine on HDD.

I tried on 1.2.0 and 0.9.3

I Made a mistake, i actually refer to the hardtype version of smt3

I tried on opl 1.2.0 and 0.9.3 and using modes but nothing worked

You could try Neutrino and NHDDL instead of OPL. It's an alternative launcher with less features but in my experience better compatibility than OPL.

if it don't work and your disc drive works, especially if you have Slim, it would be a workaround to obtain empty DVD's and burn a ESR patched disc and run it with ESR.

My ps2 doesnt have a discplayer
