i don't think the region will matter much if you mod it; it will be able to play any game from anywhere if you do that. i think the model of ps3 would be more important, since there are several versions out there. the oldest models only have 20 and 40 gbs but they have full backwards compatibility with the ps1 and ps2. you can play both discs and digital copy of those games without issue. later models have more space, but they start lacking compatibility with the older systems. and that affects emulating px1 and ps2 games.

Buy this model, don't listen to other people opinion on the slim model. That model is prone to disc drive issues, and the OG model has horrible heatsink issues. The Super Slim uses a top loader and doesn't wear off as fast compared to the slim which breaks down over time. People say the Super Slim looks cheap, but ill take what i can get compared to the OG and the Slim sounding like a jet engine mid-flight.
All PS3's are region free, but playing blu-ray movies isn't. PS3 games are cheap now then 2020, but not as cheap as they were back in 2019< A good option is to softmod the system if a game is way overpriced.

I second that. PS3 Super Slim is silent and the power consumption is very low if you get one of the latest models.

Although the slide top cover for the discs is also very bad and prone to break or the very least dislocate the gears that form the entire thing. I've had to fix some PS3 Super Slims, once one I have that for some reason got like that just by using it. Moreover, if it gets dust, it may not open the cover entirely and stay stuck in the middle. For the rest, Super Slim is sublime :)

yes. If you get the first model, you can also play PS-One and PS2 games on it. It also plays CDs, DVDs, and Blurays. You can also save videos on it. I used to watch anime on my PS3.

Don't know about buying one now, but i still have my ps3 and still play it to this day, full of good exclusives.

i have a fat ps3, it's not the original model so it doesn't play ps2 discs. it's one of the older ones that i was able to get CFW working on, instead of just loading HEN. realistically, i think a ps3 is best used to play games that are stuck on the system like MGS4, Drakengard 3, etc. but if you want to play those games, it's worth having one around provided you can get hold of one at a decent price.

remember, any ps3 can be set up with HEN so you don't need to be picky about the model really. loading up the exploit when you start the console isn't a big deal, you don't need to spring for a model that you can get CFW on.

Yep I have a lot of fun playing I guess this my last modern console I am not buying any after 7 generation because of modern rule of gaming like dlc patch I don't have a solid internet to download this.

Obrigado todo mundo peça ajuda eu vou comprar esse 3 para jogar jogos exclusivos que lançaram que eu não podia jogar que eu era uma pessoa de condição baixa que eu ainda sou o meu videogame que eu ganhei primeiro mesmo meu que eu posso chamar de meu que não era dos outros é um PS4 eu só tive um PS2 quero no meu tempo minha tia me deu um PS4 de presente eu vou comprar um PS3 para eu fazer minha coleção parece três PS4 só precisa não PS2 que eu já tenho para quebrar e um PS1 e os ps 5 vai demorar muito porque aqui no meu pai chega a 40 mil esse alguém tenha um código de tema com não resgatado se quiser me mandar como eu comprar o PS3 desculpe aí o incômodo que eu quero e me mande no privado personalizar para assistir meus animes

This is the one I have. The drive door does feel like dollar store plastic and I don't know why they went with that type. My drive door has a tendency to open with the slightest tap. The ribbing also traps dust like a magnet. It's just a bad choice in design. But if it's the best in terms of performance I'll take it. I should probably mod it. But I'm not sure if the firmware is greater than 3.55. Looks like it's a pain if it is.

Nowadays it's not worth it because it's true the compatibility is higher, but through PS2 classics you can play many games, official and not. But even so, I don't recommend PS3 for playing PS2, as PS2's are cheap and consume 1/5th of electricity, and also can play ~99,8% of PS1 games.
