Is it just me, or commodities and having everything served is ruining our gratification?

What I mean by the title is, with how fast-growing the technology field is, don't you all feel like things aren't that exciting anymore? Like for example, before, we used to wait hours for our favourite TV show to start, or if we didn't have time, we would ask a friend to record it so we could watch it later... but waiting gave that sense of excitement that nowadays we don't have because streaming apps took over and we watch something whenever we want and can.
Or take for example, having PCs for gaming. On the same device we listen to music, watch videos, do research etc. we have a library composed of TONS of games, and I'm sure y'all can relate when I say we don't feel like playing most of the time. I watched a documentary that followed recent experimental technologies that included intelligent wardrobes and houses, and I just couldn't help it but think how miserable it would all be if we had everything served done for us. I'm not good at expressing these things, but I'm sure some of you can relate to these thoughts.

Yeah for games specifically, you can get thousands of hours on online games for free, or even get free single player games from Epic giveaways. There's also a lot of free indies on itch, etc.
So there's no shortage of games.
In the past you had a handful of cartridge's and was that or nothing, so of course you spent all day every day playing city connection.
It's hard to concentrate in a game, or value them as high.

Also when I was a kid games were for:
A) Kids
B) Nerds

If you were no longer a kid and still playing games your classmates would consider you inferior. Nowadays It feels like everyone's a gamer.

Find other things to look forward to. I look forward to streams and time spent with friends I don't get to spend quality time with all the time. Those are moments that need work and preparation and that I can't instinaneously get with a button press, but are enhanced by the things I CAN get instantaneously with a button press. Use what you have available and make shit happen.

I've been trying to play games in the last few days, I've completed a few PS1 games, yet it feels....off, something feels like my attention is grabbed by other things, things I should be doing or watching other stuff, the best way to say it is that our attention span has gone hay-wire, we want to do everything all at once, without losing tracking of something that we are either a part of or like doing, we sometimes stop appreciating these things completely. Either something new or old, games or books, work or leisure, we humans have a built in code of never being satisfied of something.

Yeah, nothing is special at this point. Scarcity creates value, overabundance makes us takes things for granted.

There's a song from the 60s about this. Basically the less we have to do, the worse things will get, because we were built to do things. There is no fulfillment in being served things constantly with no effort, yet we are lazy and can't seem to turn it down.

What I do in cases of, let's call it "Electronic intoxication", is first disconnect, you can leave those 24 hours connected devices and do something more physical like gardening, cleaning, painting your walls, physical shopping, etc.
Other thing is to start actually enjoying simple pleasures like, bird watching, cooking, some sport, etc.
Also I would try to limit my backlog(games, anime, Literature, etc) to reasonable number.

The days of excitingly limited technology may be gone, but we still can make moments like these special if we balance the other aspects in our life. Modern life do require a certain discipline in order for us to not fry our dopamine receptors with all those instantaneous small forms of engagement available.
