Is it always night time in games for you too?

It’s always night time… when I load a save… when I complete a quest… beat up by hotdog costume people… aaaalways starts on night time…

Do you find that you just always land on something, like a “supposed to be random thing” that always spits the same result out?

Although… I think scientists would say that night time isn’t random…

In games or real life? For me it's a bit of both

Maybe it's a phenomenon? Or maybe it's just because I only play it when I'm just bored

I used to only be able to see the game at nighttime the first time I played Pokemon Silver, because school, homework and activities kept me from playing it til until very late at night.

Some games use night as an aesthetic choice, I suppose (like most NFS games for example, and it's better than the nuclear level sunglare from Undercover), but for games with real time clocks things can vary a lot. Night time can be dangerous in real life but always seemed more interesting than the alternative in games, for me.

Oh I love the nighttime in racing games, especially NFS Underground 2

It looks so ahead of it's time

Aye. Nothing beats the atmosphere of a good driving game at night.

I think it's a little odd that up until FFXV I can only remember like 3 times the series allows you to play during the night time otherwise it's usually midday. I really like the woods in FFX and a shame I don't see mystical woods at night settings as much as I'd like. Could just be the territory of fantasy games having to rely on natural lighting most of the time. Xenoblade was a nice change of pace to break that up for me.

A lot of games would have benefitted from a day-night cycle to spruce things up and create variety. The same area can have a completely foreign feel depending on the time of day.

i used to have an lcd that was on a dim side (and i loved it for its colors and used it till it was thoroughly dead) and nightime in elder scrolls 3/4 could get really dark so i would always sleep through it when on the road, immersion level - over 9000

Because night time is far more mysterious than daytime. Aside from the the dimness there's also the feels that everything is different like a whole new world to explore. The thrill to explore the unknown and what lies beyond that inky blackness that surrounds you piques the curiosity within you.

That’s true for fixed time, but I was talking about how in day cycle games it just happens to always land on night for me when I do anything or go anywhere.

it’s just a silly game thing I notice with myself, like another example is in Mario party if I just hit the block to decide turn order without “paying attention” I’m always last or second last, my brothers would laugh at me it happened so much. ??

I usually don't like when it's nighttime in video games, but mainly because most of them tend to look better during daytime to me, especially modern games because you can see all the shadows much more clearly, which makes the image stand out more.

I like to adventure in bright summer fields with the blue sky and shining sun above me and green grass at my feet.

Mayhap the night time in-game chooses you for some reason?
