Who remembers this gem? Probably the craziest show ever to be air on children's television:

I was a HUGE fan of the whole thing and wouldn't miss it for the world, even sitting through an entire episode of Cubix (a true Herculean task) whenever I wanted to enjoy it because Nickelodeon had bundled them together as a sort of "opening act" to Yu-Gi-Oh! each and every Saturday.

We just loved it... Except for my sister, who once got violently sick while watching it because of the color clashes and refused to be in the same room whenever the rest of us watched it XD

invader zim? never heard of it.
The Gir Show though, love it.

It was magical. The kind of edgy 2000s humor they simply can't replicate nowadays. Too bad it was cancelled so soon, I really liked the direction the second season was going...
Indeed.

Have you read the unproduced scripts? It looked like it was really going to come together.

At least we got the movie.

Ah......
Now you're speaking my language. I loved the awful, horrible look of the show, which was on purpose, so damn grungy, angular, and well...warped...

Just like the mind of Jhonen Vasquez. Zim and J.T.H.M. were my jam at this point in time. I loved the show and still do, and I have the Zim DVD box set that came with a Gir and Piggy toy. I got it I think, at Hot Topic back in 2005 or 2006.

I love that damned weird thing, I ripped the DVD's fully and re-boxed and stored it. Nothing was quite as deranged as this show, and it opened the floodgates for cynical dark kids' cartoons like never before.

Yeah, there were some, but not quite as twisted as this show. And Vasquez, I'm not sure what he's working on these days, but I absolutely adore his Johnny the Homicidal Maniac comics. Was I a warped teen for loving the show? No, it was aimed at teenagers. Was it odd for a girl to like it at that time? I don't know. I was the only girl I knew who watched it.

I had an inexplicable urge to watch the "Game Slave" episode for some reason. Not Enter the Florpus or any other episode, just hyperfixated on that one for an evening. I don't even like Gaz that much, but apparently the store clerk she asks where the batteries are is from Johnny the Homicidal maniac, so that's something.

Fun fact @DinoRexMax In the Episode The Wettening
This is johan vasquez, or a Reference to him anyhow
