Images always being too large when editing post?

Hey, i'm trying to edit a post i made with an image after the fact, and no matter how small it is i get an error saying the picture is too large. currently the one i'm trying to upload is under a megabyte and a png, so i feel this shouldnt be an issue. Has this been mentioned before or am I missing something extremely obvious?

edit: was able to do it just fine on mobile with a 6.8 mb screenshot. could it be a desktop or browser sort of issue?

As far as i know, the Size limit to anything picture wise is 2 Meg. and PNG is fine.
i know someone told me the Librewolf browser had trouble with png, but that's a moot point.
maybe a log out and back in?

maybe its the resolution?
