Recently, I felt nostalgic for Left 4 Dead 2.
Decided to give it a go, but this time, with modded bots, since I find playing online too stressful and not worth it anymore. I had so much fun reliving the best memories of that game.

This got me thinking, if I could theoretically mod ANY multiplayer game with smart bots, then TF2 comes to mind, or Quake 3/Unreal Tournament series. Cool variety of gunplay and movement mechanics.

The only bummer of not having friends is not being able to ease into any competitive space. Think CS2. I would LOVE to slowly make my way into learning the game mechanics and strategy but the game is sadly way too toxic for me to even WANT to get started. I dont have the will to join a server and get yelled at by some 12yr old because i didnt hear a footstep or whatever...

i would love to learn how to play LOL, WoW, CoD, etc but i simply dont have the patience.

Multiplayer is only as fun as the community lets it to be.

This is why every multiplayer should have smart bots, or at least be updated with smart bots.
All the resources go to waste, and the multiplayer only game is stuck in a "What if" scenario (barely anyone playing, or too toxic too interact with others). Which is really sad.

Way too often I used to stumble upon a really fun multiplayer, only nobody was playing it at all.

From what I've heard, online L4D2 these days is miserable; people expect optimal play from a public lobby. Seems like the best time to play was up to three years after release (around the time I was active). Players were still chill and tolerant of all player types. I swear, everything comp players touch turns cancerous.

My bestie recently got me playing Halo with him, one of his favorite franchises. I'd love to be able to practice online play with smart bots.
