Eternal Darkness is a survival horror game published by Nintendo in 2002. The story here would take place in a fixed time, as Alex or perhaps her own successor journey across a large open map, visiting different peoples in and around these cults. We'd see a whole spectrum of effects, from ardent supporters to those who've lost families and lives to these factions. The game would end with the Roivas in question rallying the people of earth against these gods and unifying man for its own destiny, whatever it may be. This sort-of ambiguous ending leads into a finale to the trilogy that takes place almost-entirely in that Necronomicon-astral plane realm from the first game, mostly involving inconceivable entities.
