I actually have a pretty small collection of video games consisting of 2 portables (a NDS and a moddified R36S for retro games), a Super Nintendo, a PS2 and a Xbox 360 that i currently let inside my closet. I decided to make a collection since i finally got a ok job and after some time, i finally put my hands on a gamecube. I'm pretty happy even thought i still getting confortable with the different control (it's pretty funny how the ps2 and xbox original control designs are so influential that most consoles now a days use the same, while the gamecube has a pretty different buttons directions).

LLLEEEETTTT'SSSS GGGOOOO!!!

Happy for you lad or lass.

Welcome to the cube nation! I hope you enjoy your stay in this charming little world! It’s true that getting a Wii or Dolphin compatible PC is cheaper, but the charm of an actual cube cannot be beaten. And, having an original guy in your home, you may be more inclined to try titles you’ve never heard of! There’s a lot of price variance in the GameCube library these days, so shop smart and play well!

I have the cube to thank for being my first older system. Helped me through childhood, that thing.

I miss my Gamecube. Sure, I still have my Wii which can play Gamecube games, but it's not the same. Also part of me misses the early-GC aesthetics, like Smash Melee, Mario Party 4, Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2, Luigi's Mansion, basically all of the first-year games. For more of what I mean, look at either Makin' Waves or Pair-a-sailing from Mario Party 4, then look at Hydrostars or Pushy Penguins from Mario Party 5.

Remember to clean it and be careful of its heat its an old console now you know so it needs extra care. Congratulations on getting it! I have two that are still with me today and can say it has a wonderful library

I never had any issues adapting to controllers but i like the gamecube controllers the most even if they are not the norm.

As for being influential, Sony just copied the SNES controller and added grips, XBOX grabed the Dreamcast design for the original xbox. only nintendo goes waky with their controllers, it all comes full circle.

Enjoy the gamecube and try to go for a SD card method of playing, since in this time and age, the laser reader on the cube could go bad the more is used.

Congratulations. And nowadays super easy to modchip with FlippyDrive and not super expensive.

Being honest, the time I bought it was only for the GBA Player, and afterwards I liked a few games such as Twilight Princess, Pokemon XD, Tales of Symphonia or Giftpia. Mario Parties were fun but I got very disappointed by Mario Kart, as I consider it one of the worst.

Defenitely an amazing console to your collection :)

An incredible exclusive for the console. Great fun with four players.
I’ve never heard of this game and now I have. Seeing a SEGA sports game with Virtua next to it is a sign of greatness, and now I’ll be looking out for it on my game hunts.
