will you play it? do you think itll take off? i personally believe its another fighting game fated to be unplayable online after a few months requiring you to join some discord just to get matches. people say theyll play anything if its fun to play but really i think they overlook how important visuals are for that "fun" aspect to many people. especially fighting games and character games, there just seems like there will be no lasting interest in this game due to it looking like a psp game.
discuss.

I didn't look particularly interesting to me when they first showed it off. Mostly just feels like a game being made so that there'll exist a "HxH game" because it'd be worse if one didn't or whatever.

It'd probably be fun to play if you're a Hunter x Hunter fan.
which isnt the goal and probably a telltale sign of its failure. melty blood grew a playerbase not interested into nasu dragonball fighterz literally united casual fighting game players and the genuine fighting game community. a real fighting games success isnt reliant on its ip, this couldve been one of those games but regardless of how it feels to play it just probably wont garner much interest solely because of the visual direction

Yeah it's probably more one of those fanservice games more than anything, so that HxH fans won't complain how there isn't one on the market or whatever.

Never played Melty Blood so I can't really comment about it.

HxH is my favorite series from any media so yes i'll buy it day one but don't think it will take off. The game doesn't look bad but HxH doesn't have flashy characters like naruto or dbz for the game to look inviting to nonfans imo

even though im hyper critical of any hxh media outside of the manga im still super excited, will def be the last player playing it 5 years from now

i know people are really tired of these kinds of games, but i will probably pick it up. maybe even when it comes out. i don't mind that these games die so fast, because i'm only really here to mess around in the campaigns anyways. i just really hope the campaign is good, some good cutscenes. maybe some what if scenarios. there's a lot of cool stuff they could do with it, and i think it's really novel because hunter x hunter doesn't really get many games.

it'd be kind of cool if they covered some of the dark continent stuff, which hasn't made it to the anime yet. if it goes from the first chapter to the end of the chimera ant arc, i'll be plenty happy with just that.

I played it a ton at Frosty Fausting's a week ago and had a blast! The movement didn't feel quite as fluid as something like Marvel 3 did but maybe that's just me being unfamiliar with how this game specifically feels. There was no one at the demo stations to ask questions to so for all I know there's some mechanic I'm missing out on.

Game felt super snappy and by the end of the weekend people were figuring out some grimy mixups and optimizing their combos which was great fun!

Roster seems solid so far and I'm just glad that instead of a typical arena fighter we're getting a proper 2D tag fighter. I love arena fighters but its such an oversatirated subgenre for anime games and Eighting are kings of the tag fighter as far as I'm concerned.

As someone who likes multiplayer I'll be there no matter what but I'm definitely curious what offline content will exist to entice more casual players or people who are just HxH fans.
