How to play FDS games on Nestopia 1.52, running on Ubuntu Linux 24.04 ?

Does anyone know how to run fds games (Famicom Disk System) on Nestopia 1.52 on Ubuntu 24?
I have been trying to find the correct folder to put the "disksys.rom" but to no avail. Some say that I need to put the rom file in the same folder where the executable Nestopia file is, but I can't find it. If anyone knows how to do this, please help. Thank You.

There may be a .nestopia folder in your home directory. You'll need to show hidden files in your file manager to see it (view>show hidden files). If it's not there try looking in .cache, .config, or .local/share/ for a nestopia folder.

You may as well try puNES emulator. It's much better (in my opinion) and has much more features like filters and shaders for better 'retro' vibe.

I have tried every folder that I think may be related to nestopia, but nothing works.
