Some users have requested for a way to delete their accounts.

If you have any issue with your account (typo in your username, email, can't login on repo, etc) please don't do this, DM a Staff member and they'll take care of it.

Keep in mind that you will be logged out and lose access to the forums and the repository. The account will be completely deleted 20 days after requesting, once the account is deleted you can't get it back, it's gone forever. At any time you can cancel the request (within the 20 days grace period).

You can do so by going to Preferences > Delete Account.

What does it do:
  • Remove personal details: Date of birthday, custom fields (socials).
  • Anonymize Username (You'll show up as "Deleted Member")
  • Removes Avatar
  • Removes Signature
  • Removes Profile banner
  • Removes your e-mail and password from the database.
What doesn't it do:
  • It doesn't remove the posts content (Unless they contain personally identifying data).

DISCLAIMER:

According to GDPR Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") – Article 17 GDPR
EU users have the right to request the erasure of their personal data under certain conditions. However, this does not automatically include all content they’ve posted. It only applies where personal data is present.

We will fully anonymize a user's posts upon deletion, the user profile will no longer be accessible and all information within it will be deleted permanently.
User cannot be identified directly or indirectly from the post content.
When the account is deleted username is pseudonymized (e.g., “Deleted Member 123”) with no link to personal identity. The post is no longer considered personal data under GDPR, and the right to erasure no longer applies. In other words, keeping the post content is lawful.

But if a post still contains personal data (even if anonymized at the account level) you can let us know and we'll delete or redact that content so you can exercise your right to erasure. This includes:
  • Real names, email addresses
  • Identifiable life events
  • IP addresses (if logged and connected)
  • Any combination of data that could identify the person
