How hard would it be to make MVP Baseball 2005 romhacks using the textures for the PC mods?

Assuming the images etc used for the MVP mods (like seasons like 1969, 1994, etc). I have zero knowledge about romhacking, but I'm wondering if any skilled folks have thought about doing this since the PSCX2 emulator has made so many strides.

I realize that I don't have much knowledge about this, so I apologize if it's a stupid question, but I was wondering if PS2 romhacks of games like MVP Baseball and NFL 2K5 will become a thing in the future since PS2 emulation has made so many strides, and I figure it's much easier to make roster romhacks instead of full scale mods, which are harder to get running for the average gamer.

Thanks for any potential insight.
