Not where I want to be
I've been collecting discs on games I missed in 7th gen. Mainly the Wii and PS3 and in rehousing them into color coordinated wallets I check their backs and to my horror my Xendoblade Chronicles disc was the most bronze I've seen any disc I've owned (except a few DVDs, owned 6 years). It was a used game and I looked back on my old Wii discs I had since new, badly scratched but still playable and silver as they first were. As much as it's more beautiful (and resellable) to store them in original casing I've found more of them used in worse conditions than in basic sleeves. What's your best strategy to disc preservation? Personally I have CD/DVD wallets and store them on bottom shelves, my main climate is hot and dry with mild cases of humidity in winter, most DVDs have held well.

I usually have the discs in the original package, like for example the physical 360 games that I have but many years ago I used to have my "super duper 100% legal" PS2 discs in a folder like this

Has anyone played the classic PS2 game "Master Indy Lego"?.

I prefer the original packaging, but I really only collect cartridge-based games now. Discs are too flimsy and liable to rot.

prefer the original cases, if they aren't available I at least have a generic case to the games in

In their case on a shelf.

It varies. Half of my PS3 and PS4 games are in a CD/DVD binder. My Switch games are in those multi-cartridge holders. That's because I have all of their cases in DVD storage bins under my bed. I would display my entire collection, but I'm limited to only 2 book shelves and those are packed with books, card games, and figures.
