Recently I decided to just replay a bunch of older games I never finished and realized just how daunting that really is. I have around 50+ GBA games I never actually even played, just downloaded and left there. That's not even counting the hundreds of physical games I bought years ago from sales. Sometimes I wonder how stuff like this even happens.

I wouldn't stress too much on your backlog. It certainly can be daunting to think about, but I think it's best to just focus on what you want to play in the moment. If that means playing Symphony of the Night or Metal Gear Solid for the 10th time, I personally have no problems as long as I'm enjoying the game.

Every once in a while, I refer to my backlog when I'm strictly in the mood to try something different. I only keep a small selection of those games in mind for what to play next, usually based on what genre(s) I'm interested in at that moment.

With that said, I also have a large amount of games that I'm interested in playing.

Just like LaserMoose said don´t sweat about it just play what ever you wanna play. I have tons of games yet I end up playing Stardew for the 100th time or Skyrim for a billionth time or get my ass stuck playing a mmo. I know fully well I got games I probably will not get to before I die sadly.

I use to hate my self daily having regrets not finish games but I learned over time it´s better to just play what makes you have a good time.

What you and LaserMoose said makes a lot of sense. Sadly I always have this desire to just "finish" games you know? Like if I don't beat or 100% the game, it feels like its taking up space or feels like a wasted purchase.

I have a lot rom on gba wich I haven't even started them! Around 20 or more. I finished all shaman King games on gba, I don't know why I didn't play others.

I know that feeling all to well and I know it´s daunting. But I learned the hard way trying to bet games to beat them just made me not wanna play games anymore.

But well you do you and I do me and we won´t do each other probably ::eggmanlaugh . We all play games in different ways and different reasons and what works best for you is what you should do.

But it´s a tip I give that never fret over it focus on playing games you wanna play.

at least a couple hundred? struggle to afford games so it feels like it never ends due to just resorting to pirating and shi, then there's tons of games i've heard about and just never tried out yet and yet i still have the audacity to say "i have nothing" sometimes lol

Most of those games were like super cheap. Like buying collection or in bulk sorta deals. I would look for a specific game but it would only be available if I got the whole collection of other games with it.

i'ma prolly start doing smth similar tbh, i love emulating but i plan on getting crt's and using hardware and (mostly) physical games rather than booting it off a ssd and some of these old games be insanely priced

My backlog just gets bigger and bigger over months and years, from GBC, GBA,... to Switch, PC,...

Also, I finish the game slower over time. The last time I did it happened 2 years ago.

The size of Mount Everest at this point. I won't run out of games if some crisis ever hit.

I have a backlog of 130 games on my xbox, 170 games on my PC, and 140 roms. So in total I am yet to go through 440 games. That is why recently aside from DLC's of games I already own, I have stopped buying new games. I think I have enough games to last me a decade.

I like to try and see everything, even if I don't play through it, so it's basically neverending? Just the commodore 64 is thousands and I've played maybe 1000 of them.

It's around 650 not counting the Japanese games and some of the roms. I think it would be around 800 games if we count those.

Enough to last the rest of my life and I consider that to be a good thing.

I'm not getting through it all in this life.

Legally owned games across all platforms: around 1000 games.

Not legally owned games (mostly roms and some abandonware): I have no idea, my guess is something like 300 games or so.

Only recently I started to focus on completing games, using HowLongToBeat to document my progress. I tried to make my backlog as realistic as possible, starting with my favorite games of all-time moving towards recently fan-translated games. Unfortunately as much as I like 16-bit & 32-bit RPGs they're low priory since they take so much time to complete, I don't have many listed.

That being said I managed to finish a few hundred games the past few years. Since I sold majority of my collection and switched to my primary goal of game completion things have been looking up. Despite the progress I still have roughly 400 games in my realistic backlog.

Too the point I have a hard time deciding what to play, then again I have this problem where if I get stressed during the day it makes it even harder to game. So I'm just trying to keep it simple. I still haven't completed Front mission 3, Final Fantasy 8, Or Dragon Age "Inquisition" Lol I stopped trying with Minecraft once I glitched through the ground and drowned.

Right now though I'm just goofing off with old GBA games.
