I'm not sure if it's a secret of the game or if someone has already posted about this but I found something interesting in the game. (also, I'll have to blur some of it since it's a spoiler)
After going into Martin Summer's room to interrogate him over who the real author of his book is, I got to a weird thing.
I got two of the options wrong, one in the start and one during the questions part. I skipped some of the dialogue because I thought I lost then I got to the puzzle where you have to spot the difference between the two names.
After asking some more questions and receiving no answers, Martin turned into a weird black half silhouette, the Kyle Hyde turned into the same thing and my game crashed.
It was interesting enough for me to need to write about it somewhere. If anyone has gotten the same thing or has a video of it, please post it in the comments. I'll try to replicate it.

That’s interesting. I wonder what footage of it would look like.

To the few people who read this thread, I couldn't replicate the bug again, it's likely happening because of my failing SD card. There was another bug with one row of tiles being rendered incorrectly.
I'm going to make a video recreation if you're interested in seeing it.

I never had something like this happen, but then I only emulated.

I played Hotel Dusk quite recently myself, and was even taking screenshots with twilightmenu functionality that corrupted the graphics of the games quite often, leading me to restart often but cannot say I had this happen. Then again, I made very little errors in the interrogations. Unlike when I was a teen and less of a "natural Californianite" with my english, the questioning parts were somewhat easy to figure out by eliminating obviously wrong answers.
I can tell the "black silhouette" effect at least is normal part of the game if you are getting on the bad side of a character during the interrogation. There is few parts of the game where you can even bring up wrong question to a wrong person at the wrong time and cause this, with a game over. I am not entirely sure if you caused a Game Over and something else happened instead and crash, but as far as I remember, that might been what happened.

The game is great, good that you are playing it though that is weird, Hopefully (though you SHOULD) have a save before the interrogation so you can ace it. Both Room 215 and Cape West have some of the best, down-to-earth characters and interractions between them that still is interesting. They are games that can remind you of lives everyone else goes through.

So, you've experienced similar glitches. This one was so quick and strange that it felt like one of those "haunted games" in creepypastas and ARGs.
And yes, I do make some stupid mistakes during interrogations from time to time, good thing the penalty isn't big and you can save as much as you want.
This has turned into one of my new favourite games and I'm having a really nice time playing it. Getting into the game I wasn't expecting to like it so much.

I have not. I said I replayed the game fully, and even pushed it by opening NDS-Bootsrap's in game menu enough to cause graphical glitches that was caused by opening an in game menu a lot. Still no random crashes or whatever, just graphical breakage that needed a reboot to fix, and caused by over using an unofficial feature. Of course in perfect world in game menus do not cause any such stuff, but this is free software made free by- not a perfect world. But I cannot say I had glitching in the game and I played it twice on very different... backup loader methods, though on real consoles.

I meant to say you've experienced graphical glitches too. Although, mine happened dur to an SD card that until recently stopped working very often, it's likely this happened due to the same thing (just in a more interesting way than 3DS games)

Another update: Now I am 100% sure it's just my SD card failing to be read. A more subtle crash happened, a black screen with a white object followed by a pitch black screen.
