Hot takes

KoF>>Street Fighter

KOF is very loved in south America for some reason
My guess: older hardware that was used for the majority of the series, so cheaper to get ahold of (compared to Capcom regularly updating the hardware as the series moved along), and regular arcade releases, so only the local business had to buy the hardware for most people to play on the cheap.

Well, good news, you're all correct.

For every Street Fighter cabinet you'd find in Brazil, there's like 20 for KOF 97, 98 or 2002 (ESPECIALLY 2002).

If you do find a Street Fighter cabinet, odds are it's either Alpha 2 or Alpha 3.

And then there's Mortal Kombat which is a straight up rarity to find in arcades, hence everyone played it on consoles.

SNK used the exact same hardware from the first Fatal Fury game in 1992 all the way to Samsho V Special, which I think came out in 2004, while Capcom had at least 3 different CPS arcade systems, not to mention stuff like NAOMI and whatnot.

Is KOF better than SF? Depends on who you ask. But at least in South America, KOF was the preferred choice simply because it was so easy to find arcade machines with them.

Raw Thrills deserves more credit than it gets at times, Cruis'n Blast was great

Clickbait actually repels potential viewers, it doesnt attract them.

cold or lukewarm coffee is fine, i drink super slow and rarely sometimes microwave the same coffee throughout the day

ive come across some people who say cold or lukewarm coffee makes them gag like wut

Forums are overrated and are not as good as early social media like Youtube and MySpace.

a call back to Bebo and VampireFreaks was not what i was expecting, certainly a take

Follow-up:
Breath of the wild sucked and failed to capture the same vibe that Elder Scrolls had figured out years ago to what makes an open world fun to explore. Soft Piano does not make good ambiance and the Ubisoft formula of "Climb a tower, expose more map" is dreadfully boring no matter how you try to spin it with obstacles on the way up.

They're an excuse to eat something with an excessive amount of butter. Also they pair well with like, tea and coffee and stuff, or so I'm told. I wouldn't really know because uh, here's a hot take from me...

Tea is just disgusting leaf water and coffee is just disgusting bean water.
Agreed - Muffins are a bit too heavy going for my tastes (though they do pair well with hot drinks)

But to throw shade at tea..for shame Sir! I should kick your Assam, Darjeeling.

...Coffee is pretty tragic as well though aye....still drinkable, but tea is a gift

Chinese Democracy is just as good as any other Guns N' Roses album. Yeah, it's just Axl with whatever musicians he hadn't fired yet and not Slash and the rest of the original band. It still is full of awesome guitar work and great singing. Feels more cohesive than the other albums. Not saying it's better than Use Your Illusion but is worthy to stand alongside those albums. Sure, Axl still had a huge ego, but it feels like this is maybe when some self-awareness started creeping in before he eventually chilled out a little bit. It's fair to dump on it considering the hype and how long it took to come out, but nothing he could have released would have been worthy of that sort of expectation.

As i said before, retroarch would be far more well liked if it had a desktop ui similar to say, ares or mesen's.

The main reason why people hate retroarch is that it's desktop control scheme is so bonkers for mouse and keyboard control.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad other people can enjoy the oddly disgusting leaf and bean infused waters. I just don't get it like, at all. Clearly though, my taste is in the minority here. Also just to be clear, I do actually really like English muffins. I love how much butter you can get on those bad boys without it being too much, and I think they're delightfully crisp when toasted (though they are a pain in the ass to pull apart without ripping the bread more than I'd like). But, when it comes to tea and coffee, just think of it this way, I'm just happy to leave more for the people that like it. ::dkapproves

Honestly me neither. Wonder if it's gotten much better since I used it though?

You want a real hot take?
Gonna leave the political side out of this.
The wrong side won WW1, i firmly believe that if the so called axis forces won ww1, russia wouldn't have fallen into soviet control and likely a good deal of the horrors of ww2 would not have happened and keep in mind i'm leaving the political side out of it and only talking about the knock on effects of it, the amount of death and slaughter over the last century could have been highly mitigated imo had the allies lost or it ended in a stalemate, just my take.

Other hot takes?
I agree with kurt russell, hollywood actors are jesters, the fans don't need to hear your personal opinions on anything, your job is to entertain the fans, not preach to them.

Despite being Mexican, i HATE ranch music, at fist neutral at it, now i associate it with noisy neighbors

Tea can be good, but getting the good stuff is nearly impossible outside eurasia.

for fiddly or more recent emulators i will use them individually, but i have absolutely no issue using RetroArch for say PS1 and prior.

RetroArch is extremely configurable. i kind of can't empathize with how much people seem to hate on it. i see the "hot take i dont like retroarch" takes far more often that I see people singing its praises

I somehow figured out what I was doing on retroarch so I just stick with that because I don't want to configure a bunch of separate standalone emulators

We are NOT in a golden age of fighting games.

The MVC Collection is unreasonably overpriced, SF6 is back with the throw loops (because everyone liked that about SFV), Tekken 8 exists, Garou is still up in the air but KOF has been the same game for at least three games in a row, MK1 for every attempt of balancing the game they end up making something else more broken, not to mention Khaos Reigns was a disappointment. And oh yeah, once the novelty of the MVCI mod wore off, everyone dropped the game again.

And this is coming from someone who loves fighting games to this day. Sure KOF 14 was ugly and SFV was the dark ages, but it's inaccurate to call this a "golden age" when the bar is already set so low anyway.
