I'm not a big fan of the Dragon Ball series. I like the Movies [Except Evolution] but i'm not huge into the show by any means. [I'm probably gonna get my IP leaked for this]

Every Shounen Jump Anime or Manga made post 1999 sucks ass.
Evangelion isn't a subversion just because it was the first Mecha anime you watched.
Miyazaki is right about Modern Anime.
Ufotable are the most overrated anime studio right now, Trigger, Shaft, Madhouse, Bones and Science Saru are still miles ahead of them.

The entire industry/landscape seems to be filled with so much easy, safe, bland wish-fulfilment garbage nowadays, which is so insanely uninteresting that it makes me fall asleep on the spot.

I know it's a stereotype, but the whole "I was a loser IRL but I got transported into another world and now I'm the best apparently" thing is just awful.
I get that the world is pretty bleak, but these escapism-fueled stories are derivative and just straight up not fun, but it sells because people relate to the misunderstood loser main characters. It's like Coldsteel the Hedgehog levels of dumb.

I also really hate how almost every single fantasy world in contemporary anime has this weird video game-inspired logic to everything. It's fun occasionally but nowadays it just feels like an easy excuse to not have to explain your world. It's especially common in isekai, which I assume is because it's mostly written by nerds whose entire frame of reference are video games.

That's a misquote but what he's actually saying is even better.
He implies that the industry has stagnated because it's run by otakus who make things only for otakus, so there's little room for true artistic expression in what's popular.

Hayao Miyazaki is overrated.
That's interesting, I'd really like to hear why you feel that way if you want to explain. I think he's one of the few who ever "got it" when it comes to the really big director names. But I get that it's different for everyone.

Dragonball is the best shonen story BECAUSE Toriyama winged so much of it (especially if you consider that he still was pretty heavily controlled by editors for much of the entire thing, which isn't necessarily a bad thing). That's the reason it feels so playful and varied, and why its simplicity never feels "dumb" as much as honest, and why the "serious" moments feel all the more impactful.

Not saying there aren't other great and well-made stories, but DB is still the GOAT in its demographic regardless, to me.

Yes that's what i meant when i said he was right.
Sorry, I just got pedantic and wanted to add the reasoning in case people were unaware of the whole meme-quote comes from :)

- Precure has done far more for the magical girl genre than Madoka ever did.
- Outsourcing animation hasn't done a single positive thing.
- One Piece gets too much hate, but it isn't good either.
- Ufotable is overrated.
- The golden age ended 15 years ago.

It was all over once someone decided the title of a series needs to be a full sentence. You used to see a title and was vague enough to make you want to see what it's all about, even if the title ended up being unrelated in the end. Nowadays I see a series and it's like, "On June 7th I went to 7-11 and a girl there gave me a pocky and she's also my sister but she's really a slime from another dimension?!?!?!" and it's like... what the hell are you doing.

I think the 1970s is the best decade for anime.
This isn't a contrarian take just for fun, mind you, it's more that I don't watch a lot of stuff, but from what I've watched I've liked 70s stuff the most.

I think Pokémon Sun/Moon was the best the Pokémon anime ever looked.

People love to bitch how Isekai keeps using the same dumb concept but forgets that
Shōnen and romance anime keeps suing the same tropes over and over and over again yet no one complains.

And no 90s and early 2000 anime is not better than today´s anime. They mostly that changed is how it´s made back then it was more hand drawn but that would result it would take bloody longer to do a 12 episode show than it takes today.

The reason you hate modern anime is your stuck in the past and your taste is the same as it was then. Yeah anime has change but not for the worse it´s just you stuck in the past. You had shit anime in 90s the same as you have shit anime today just like how it is with video games you had you had Super man 64 then and Concord now.

Main stream anime sucks ass but just like pop music it´s made to brainwash you to think is great. And it is proof that majority of people have the same shitty taste hence why it´s mainstream.

Also FYI don´t like Iskeai don´t watch it. The reason it´s keep being made it´s not to please you, They are pleasing the Japanese market and they don´t give a fuck what you American or German or Belgian etc, think. You are not the fucking target audience. So you bitching about it is just you bitching the clouds.
