What are your favorites Horror Games?
Resident Evil Capcom GIF

It's hard to pick just a few when the horror genre really has been flourishing especially thanks to indie developers. But some that I have thoroughly enjoyed are:

Resident Evil 2-4 Remakes, Visage, P.T. (Silent Hills), Silent Hill 3, SOMA, Alien: Isolation, Haunting Ground, Clock Tower (SNES), and the Siren series. On that last note, I have been playing the PS3 version of Siren: Blood Curse and something about the whole aesthetic of that series makes me on edge the whole time I play, haha.

If it can be included in the genre, I've played a bit of "Darkest Dungeon 2" on Switch and I enjoyed it, though I don't like horror in general (never played Silent Hill or Resident Evil, for example).

For just horror, Fatal Frame series, ig. I actually just like the girls, lol. The scare, not very scary.

Resi4 for action/shooter horror. Dead Space a close second.

PT for short horror.

Spirit Hunter and its sequels/prequels for visual novel horror.

Clock Tower 1 for classic. Unironically 😂

Not sure, but scary iirc (never replayed):
-Dino Crisis 1. It was pretty scary iirc, but I was a kid back then so idk if it was actually scary.
-Silent Hill... idk, the one with the lost daughter. Same, played it as like 11-12 years old kid.
-Silent Hill 4 The Room. I remember refusing to go to toilet after playing it lol

Resident Evil 1, the voice acting and horror b-movie vibes are unmatched.
Silent Hill, probably the scariest game I've played.
Dead Space, it's like Resident Evil mixed with Alien, what's not to love?

Realizing now that survival horror is my favorite subgenre, apparently.

For retro games I would pick Silent Hill series and Resident Evil, it's a bit obvious. Other than that though, Phasmophobia (scary before and still is). And the FNAF series until the Pizzeria Simulator or just the trilogy because

Many of my favorites has already been mentioned.
I'll add Cry of Fear and F.E.A.R(specially the first expansion: Extraction Point)

Oh I also liked this game:

I loved Silent Hill 1 and Dead Space 1. Still need to play the sequels though...

Blood for ms-dos, Sweet Home for NES, Clock Tower for SNES, Corps Party 1&2 for PSP, Resident Evil trilogy for psx.

The ones that comes to mind are Silent hill 3 and Amnesia the dark descent. The former is one the best of the franchise i've ever played, there are very few games that made me as anxious as SH 3. And Amnesia the dark descent is amazing, the cosmic horror aspects adds another layer of tension to the game.

i'd say pikmin is my favorite horror game. existential dread, loneliness, despair and bleak hope. everything that isn't a pikmin wants to eat you and the pikmin too. a giant demon may lurk inside the planet and is possibly manipulating time and space. losing your ship to pay off an enormous debt. a crazy psycho who eats the wildlife and controls them and becomes king of the bugs. lots of horror stuff.

it might not count as a standard horror game, but it hit a few good horror vibe beats to me.

Dead Space, Resident Evil 3 1999 specifically, Silent Hill 2, mostly just the obvious ones. But one I played somewhat recently that I feel doesn't get enough love is Alien: Isolation. That's the one game that's actually gotten me freaked out a bit. I have a hard time getting scared by that stuff because as a kid I was afraid of everything and would force myself a little bit each time to watch something scary until it didn't bother me anymore. Alien: Isolation hit my autism in the right spot to where I had to quit playing. I really need to get back on that game.

I used to rent clock tower from the local video store, so I totally agree!

I've got a spotty record for horror, but from what I've played I'm a huge fan of silent hill 1 and signalis, though if I'm in a goofier mood it's a toss-up between F.E.A.R. and Voices of the Void.

F.E.A.R is straight heat. If you're in to newer games you should try Trepang2. that's a squared symbol not an actual 2.

When I want to get scared I play Silent Hill 2 the Brookhaven hospital makes me panic a lot XD. But if I want to play or speedruning one I usually stick with Resident Evil 0, 1, 2 and 3 both original and remake.
