Movies Henry Fonda just keeps getting arrested!

Why are they always trying to put Henry Fonda in prison for crimes he didn’t commit?
And he doesn’t even have a fully tatted-up brother to break him out.
I find it weird how similar these movies are. Please don't watch them back to back, it would feel like watching the same thing thrice!

You Only Live Once (1937):​

Christopher Balestrero (Henry Fonda), a quiet musician supporting his family, is wrongly accused of a robbery he did not commit. Despite his innocence, he is convicted and jailed, and must struggle to prove the truth as he faces a tragic fate.

And even when he's not getting arrested, he's holding up the judicial process like in 12 Angry Men.

If anything, it explains why he took his jury service so seriously!



To say nothing of standing up for Barbara Stanwyck when the police got the wrong idea!

People around him resented his presence and charm, haha.
Incidentally, I need to be careful or I'll end up on the wrong side of the law because of this, too!

Little bit of trivia here, I fact checked it and yes it did happen! (even though I didn't notice it watching the film myself):

Henry Fonda's mugshot in The Wrong Man. The movie's jail scenes were filmed at a real jail and you can hear an inmate shout, "What'd they get ya for, Henry?"

And they left that in lol!
