PS1 Help with ps1

Installed freepsxboot onto ps1(still with expanstion port and reset button) but cannot make it to play burnt discs i recalibrated it to a specfic resistance that i checked on youtube still nothing any ideas what could be wrong it always says disc unlock 2 then fails to run disc.

Hmm...
Did you try booting a burned CD as if it was a legit PS1 CD?
Because if the drive can read it, the "Please insert a PlayStation format disc" screen should appear.
If not, then the drive could be worn...
