Sounds to me like you're not in the headspace for videogames at the moment. Might be a good time to try new things? Get out of your comfort zone, you know?
To ramble a bit, since I've got a headache - I think it's easy to fall back into unintentionally restrictive habits we've gotten used to when we're trying to entertain ourselves. "I like movies and I've got nothing better to do - I'll watch a movie!" and so on.
Hell, for some people their hobbies and habits can even become their whole identity! Whether we like it or not, every now and then our brains want variation and new input.
It's completely normal to take a break from your hobbies and to check out or do other things for a while - the enjoyment does usually return after some time away. Or at least it does for me.
That's really a wise perspective that I can even scientifically explain!!!
Long story short and put it simply: As particular neurons are overly used due to a constant cycle of being triggered the more they lose their sensitivity to be able to pick up and transmit to trigger nearby neurons. This is why, as you tire your particular neurons, the less you will be able to use them. For example studying law all day without even distracting yourself will make your brain cannot work eventually, so because of it your brain cannot learn anything and then you will find yourself in a state you can't even understand it. In such a state if I had asked your name you may have had to think it for a long time. This is when the brain makes certain parts of it sleep despite you are awake due to extreme tiredness of doing the same over a long time. It also make brain skip time because you won't be aware you were sleeping in your wake state. This is also when sometimes your memory cannot record information so don't be surprised some stuff happened while you were tired that you cannot remember. People may tell you your answer didn't make sense as you clearly misunderstood it, you may also did something that didn't make sense either (putting your wallet into the refrigerator). This happens when brain try to use certain neurons but it can't so the "task order" bounced from neurons brain couldn't trigger to unrelated neurons that was mistakenly triggered. When this happens it effect the way you think and make decision in irrelevant way. So for example, when brain cannot think to put the wallet in its right place, if you were thinking about the refrigerator because you were hungry, you may find yourself automatically putting your wallet into the refrigerator lol. Your current ideas depends on which neurons are active so they can be triggered.
Letting your brain tired is really dangerous, can lead you to cannot remember, cannot understand what's happening which leads to misunderstanding, and will make you slower. It does endanger your life in a way being careless and losing a sense of carefulness can lead to fatal accidents.
It's important to let your neurons rest by distracting yourself with different things.
For example if a long hard work that required you to pay attention for half of the day made you tired, the best would be doing something that you don't have to pay attention like listening to music. It was rather the rule I followed after going home from school and playing video games. It really helped me to relax. But after an intense work all I wanna do is just shut down my brain for a month lol.
It also means it made me divide video games into "games to play for fun" and "games to play to relax". For example new video games are not something I could play to relax or have fun. They talk too much. Imagine being a kid listening to people for a long time and try to play such games. Imagine you walk around the city for hours and try to play the games force you to walk for hours. Imagine you do all the chores, and then video game forces you to do more chores. It does not make sense to me when video game industry is like this anymore. It was always important to have mindless fun gameplay to enjoy without story and dialogue.
