I'm not so sure if I should share this but I think might be important for history. (And is General Online Gaming Talk the right forum to put this on? Or should this be in the Writers Guild or General Discussion?)

One day, ever since getting used to Quake 3 on PC thanks to the PS Vita homebrew version, I got interested into adding mods to Quake 3 through Worldspawn and models were the first for me to get as I wanted a lot more interesting opponents as well as giving myself a unique identity for myself for both the Vita version and the PC version. One of the first who caught my interest was a model named Argos that was made by someone named "Obi-Wan".
The model itself was small compared to the base Quake 3 cast and while it didn't have a bot, I loved the model and made Argos my player model for both versions but overtime however, Argos became very important to the Vita version as my playstyle there centered around the third-person view.

Though, I became curious about the readme file that came included with the model. So, I dabbled on it.
The readme file contained your usual info: About the mod, where to put it, and credits but I was interested in 3 things in it:
The "Model description", that explained why Argos was so small but it also shocking revealed that Argos was going to be in a game called "Legacy of the Vandi". I did search the web for that name considering the date of the model's release: "27 April 2000" but I had no luck.

And then there was "Other info" that had the site I intend to share my info about it so far:
http://feroxsoft.iwarp.com
All to see what happened to Legacy of the Vandi.

Getting into the site myself, I surprised that it looked very ancient yet still can be loaded into. It seemed very abandoned especially considering the home page last update on August 4, 2000, that was welcoming a person named Cheung Chi who was going to work on animations for Legacy of the Vandi.
Curious about Legacy of the Vandi even further, I clicked on the Legacy of the Vandi link that led me to the Legacy of the Vandi product page for it to show what the game was about; it was going to be a full 3D RPG for the PC and MAC. It also showed 3D renders of its main characters (I'll show some though:)

morvus(tex).jpg

(This isn't a glitch; it's how it was when I saved Morvus' picture)

I really thought these were really cool, so I made FF6/FFRK versions of them (I'm showing some of them as I'm not finished with them but...I had started them in early summer 2025 but I had lost their pixel data among others, so these were remade from scratch):

FF6 Styled Drakenvalt (Legacy of The Vandi).png

There was an animation in Legacy of the Vandi's product page as well, but I couldn't play it myself.
I far as I can tell though, it seems that as time tells, it went unreleased, never to be seen and heard from Ferox Software ever again.

However, Legacy of the Vandi wouldn't be Ferox Software's only then upcoming game as two other games were on the Products page, "Spacestation Evolution - Episode 1" and "Bubble Trouble".
Spacestation Evolution - Episode 1 was to be a 2D tile-based game that combined RPG elements with sci-fi themes and action. Much like Legacy of the Vandi, it never seen a release, but its product page did show some nice art:

But out of the three games, Bubble Trouble has seen a downloadable release, but its download link sends me to Yahoo!'s main page.
It seems like it was made in the Yahoo! at the time and for further confirmation, I tried checking it out on the web (I didn't have a Yahoo! account), but it wasn't on Yahoo! Games though there is a more common Bubble Trouble game in sites like poki.com but it's very different to the one that Ferox Software have in screenshot on Bubble Trouble's product page:

It's beyond me to figure out what happen to Ferox Software as I got a lot on my hands, but I hope this bring some historical awareness.

Never heard of them but the staff information has an interesting piece:

And I googled the name:

43f43f433.jpg

Damn, what is that bro? Is this the same guy???

Staff information also have an email adress for this name: w_roget@yahoo.com

Thanks to high security standards privacy of people fucked, so by trying to login this email address by using "dude I forgot my password" option I partly found his phone number:

But it's not American phone code at all. What is that?

I checked what it may be and found these possibilities:

34f43f.jpg

It shows it is 3 digit number but it can be also 2 digit number just for default way of censoring phone numbers. However among these likely possibility is UK. However this guy I found on Google is American.

However his Facebook link has the same pattern as the email address: https://www.facebook.com/wroget

Then it make me think he is probably dual citizen, so he is also a citizen of UK.

If he is our guy, this Ferox Software thing was probably an ambitious young group project back then but for some reason they may suddenly parted their ways. Lovers break up, some young shit drama... anything is possible.

Oh I also found his home in America:

Nah, I didn't go that far lolol.

Yet it really randomly lead to something interesting TBH lol.

Then it make me think he is probably dual citizen, so he is also a citizen of UK.
Or he could simply be a Brit. It's not like we know that Ferox Software were an American company.

I checked the news section of that site and there's a few items about a merger then a quick split between Ferox and a team called Final Fantasy Chronicles. http://feroxsoft.iwarp.com/news.html

This was a year before the Final Fantasy Chronicles disc package was released. So I don't think it could be a fan game based on that. Does anyone remember a fangame with the same title? The internet was a very different place in 2000. It's not as easy these days to just google a name. You get all this useless garbage instead that has nothing to do with what you want. I mourn the death of webrings and AniPike.

Febuary 12th, 2000
  • From a month's worth of discussions, debates, and meetings with the leadership of both Legacy of the Vandi and "Final Fantasy Chronicles", a final decision was made that Ferox Software did not wish to be a part of the "Final Fantasy Chronicles" project, and that their game was simply incompatible with our resources, as was their leadership with ours. For that reason, we wish to have no formal relation with the "Final Fantasy Chronicles" project, yet we still wish them the best of luck on their ambitious and interesting project.
  • After hiring three new staff members, the Legacy of the Vandi project is really starting to take off! We proudly welcome Henk Bernhardt, Stone, Min Kwon, and Moshe Ben Baruch to our staff.
January 19th, 2000
  • Ferox Software proudly announces its merger with the Final Fantasy Chronicles team and their staff. Special thanks to Aegis-Night and Seph_of_the_Cetra for making this merger possible. Because both Ferox Software and the Final Fantasy Chronicles teams are the same company now, this web site will change and a new site will be put up, representing both companies as one, Ferox Legends Software. Stay tuned for more information on both Legacy of the Vandi and Final Fantasy Chronicles .

Or he could simply be a Brit. It's not like we know that Ferox Software were an American company.

It says he has a British Academy Games award for music. So my guess is he's from the UK. If you check the Wayback Machine you'll see another Ferox Software that appears to be unrelated and is based in Germany. So if you search further be aware of that.
