No but seriously, that sounds like a fun idea. I know there's a trope of "country person meets city person", and opposites attract. Heck, plenty of people I know here in the US tend to have the stereotype of a more liberal / "city" mom and a conservative / "country" dad. So... cowboy x goth chick could exist already in fiction, and likely does IRL with some couple.

It's probably a romance novel by now, I'm certain. Just sayin'.

Okay, I made some calls, asked around, eventually I landed on searching the Western Gothic genre; very cool stuff, but good examples are hard to find. Most trend horror (gothic, natch), but I did find this romance series that seems *close*.

EDIT: This one isn't romantic, but speaking of Western Gothic, I found this 2007 film Left for Dead. It's by Albert Pyun, who made tons of bloody SFX movies, and it's a supernatural American-Argentinian horror western. Off-topic, but it seems cool!

And no I don't mean any southern boy. But an actual cowboy falling in love with an emo girl? I have just been wondering because so far I haven't seen a movie with a romance between a "yeehaw" cowboy dude and a "whateva" emo girl ‍♀ . I mean it would be an odd pairing but an interesting one to see nonethless. Like how will her self-loathing ways react to the whims of riding a horse? And how will the country lad will react to evanescence?

If there is a film like that...i would love to see it.
