Final Fantasy tactics advance 2 is easy in normal mode but you need to master the game system to play it in hard mode even using broken items and jobs combinations.

I remember Henry Hatsworth being a challenging 2d action platformer with a puzzle game going on the bottom screen. It's been a long time since I played it, so I don't recall much details. I remember it being hard. Never finished it.

It gets fiendishly difficulty on the last world. Still need to beat it actually, I think I have like three levels left. What sucks is the money you collect can only go toward upgrades and you can't buy 1-ups so you have to grind them out in earlier levels. Fun game but it really needed a sequel to iron out the kinks.

Also, seconding Strange Journey and the Etrian Odyssey games. I also remember Devil Survivor being pretty tough.
