What Could have been the future of Esports :

GunZ Was Something Special from the start. Released back in 2004 then released the official version globally in 2006. The game had the most active fanbase in 2008. Its play style is not for the weak. Named K-Style Or Korean-style discovered by South Koreans on the first release of the game. With the combined fast reaction time, quick movements, and Great aim. The game was super competitive with no skill-based matchmaking. If you find a match at the same time a die-hard GunZ Player Versus you, Someone who has just started playing. You're getting instantly cooked by your opponents.

The only downsides I've Seen are that it's P2W and constant cheaters in the lobbies back then. Now dead, the game is kept alive by its fanbase through Private servers. Making their version of GunZ removing the P2W aspect which is great. These issues caused GunZ not to be one of THE best esports games. Only if the devs knew what they were doing at the time.

Revival:

Recently. There is news That is confirmed to be the Revival of GunZ.
Fixing issues such as P2W and Finally adding anti-lead. Anti lead is in games like Gunz, refers to a system or server configuration where the player's client determines whether a shot hits, rather than the server, leading to potential inconsistencies and subjective hit
Detection.
Looking forward to its release on Steam. There is no confirmed date of release at the time I am making this.

I Hope This game gets the popularity it needs. A goated game to say the least

Oh hell yeah, how did you know I recently redownloaded GunZ and have been watching videos trying to butterfly again lol. Played it so much in highschool but these days it feels harder to play as a casual player between the cheating and genuinely godlike players online. Still, it can still be rewarding and fun if you don't care about being at the top every match. Great 00s aesthetic and soundtrack, too. I love the nostalgic feeling it radiates. I hope they preserve that feeling in any revivals or reboots of the series.

And it has the most wistful, beautiful lobby song full of longing that wouldn't be out of place in a Wild Arms game (I always thought GunZ and Wild Arms were pretty close in theme and feel with GunZ just being a little edgelordy-er with all the katanas and darker aesthetic lol)

Trying to learn butterflies all over again is re living hell. Definitely should play until the remake releases

One of the most stylish games I've seen.

In some ways, it's like Smash Bros in regards how oversights on programming led to the creation of high level play by means of strategies based on moviment.

I have so much nostalgia for Gunz, some of the most fun I ever had with an online TPS. Loads of memories of staying up late practicing K-Style, even though I never got very good at it.

Yes, this! If you couldn't cancel out of animations ad nauseum, it just wouldn't be GunZ lol...That's really what makes it so fun and almost frantic.

The only MMO I truly played.
I also tried S4, and kind of digged the style, but if I recall correctly the pay to win aspect took me out of it, and there was another game like GuZ and S4, but with mechs.

I used to loooove this game as a kid, but I also had connection issues which meant I... never... fought anyone? Still, I thought running around and doing flips in empty maps was the coolest thing ever.
