This is a great video explanation on how to fix controller latency. I am in no way advertising this channel, it is just a well explained tutorial.

 
Without Input Lag there is better response and precision with the control depending on the button you press and makes it more playable and responsive.

It is that if they are challenging and frenetic games like this, the controls in a game has to be precise and responsive to comply with the norm of Easy to Play, Difficult to Master.
 
If you really care about this kind of thing I strongly recommend investing in a mister or some kind of fpga solution. Even with run ahead it's not the same.

I know it's some money but it completely renewed my love of retro games after playing via software emulation for almost 20 years.

My crt I cannot get to video output, I need a universal remote to play my real snes on. Plus I think the brand is so obscure I hope the universal remote works. I wanted to get that cheaper mister pi, but it sold out. 😪
