Rockstars next game being too big to fail but this is a symptom of the current blockbuster malaise. It was supposed to come out this year but I think it's probably the best if it comes out next year. https://kotaku.com/gta-6-aaaaa-silksong-next-gen-pc-devolver-digital-2000623190

The best time for it to come out is when it's done. It's big enough that moving the date is to impact sales on some competition, because it'll impact everything for awhile.

If Steam's stability for Silksong was this tepid, I won't even open the store at all for awhile when gta hits.

It only needs to be fun, the competition in the market is something absurd when all come to graphic power, people around the world still play GTA V or San andreas even, because they are a entertaining. Rockstar is more concerned about being the talk of the town.

Wow, AAAA sure didn't last long huh. We got that Ubisoft pirate game and... that was it? The industry is already tacking on another "A". Does kinda reek of desperation, have to agree.

I think it's important to come to terms with the fact that these major blockbuster releases will never live up to the hype. That's not to say you can't enjoy the game. My point is that treating it like some historic landmark that demands reverence is unhealthy. It's better to detach yourself from the marketing blitz.

"San Andreas even"? I still play GTA San Andreas because it's the only GTA game that has that much content + great opportunities for sandbox fun that make the game like 1 million games in 1 lol. Can't have that much fun in any other GTA game.

I shall be honest I never understood the popularity of the series sure they are not bad games but calling GTA the best game series of all time makes me question the sanity of gamer´s.
Honestly all the deal of GTA games were open world gameplay because considering that era it was new and amazing for being more like real-life which was a "wow" thing, besides that until GTA San Andreas GTA games were shit. Until GTA 3 the games were more like "get the tank and have fun causing mayhem to the city" game, afterwards GTA 3 and GTA Vice City has the most nonsense story and therefore its missions. GTA 3 is especially boring, Vice City is brain dead. There is just an excuse of a story just for BS missions.

But GTA San Andreas is very different. Character variety and depth like Final Fantasy 6, a really solid story which for its story alone GTA SA would worth to play and I say as a person who doesn't give a shit about stories in games and I skip dialogues and cutscenes which only very few game made me care about their stories lol, the great sandbox gameplay from street racing and car modification to military jet action game, I would sometimes roleplay as a serial killer between many villages and 3 cities lol. It was also interesting to roleplay as X-Files agent who research weird shit in the game and find interesting stuff. GTA San Andreas does have nonsense missions but it's sometimes just for the sense of humor but there are good fun missions too. It was when finally GTA identity was finally found.

But sadly GTA series died with GTA 4. It's like most stupid AAA game in existence, I wish it was cancelled lol. What to like about the game is its real-time ragdoll physics makes killing people with hit and run fun lol. Certainly it's not a fun game when your cousin call you to play bowling while tons of criminals and cops mutually try to kill you by cooperating with each other despite how all these shit is funny lol.

And then GTA 5 is nonsense in another BS way. 3 playable character you must switch sometimes, never liked that BS especially when game force you to switch to generic cringy crazy guy just because such type was popular in that era and the guy is in middle of nowhere with his underwear. It's like they developed the shit game for 6 years old kids. While missions are not BS whole game is about heist theme which I don't like this theme whatsoever. Still in general sense technically GTA 5 can be said as "best decent GTA" for it doesn't have BS missions like previous games, yet when GTA San Andreas exist no other GTA game is satisfactory.

However it would be usual to hear only GTA San Andreas and GTA Online is what actually loved the most, as for other GTAs they are just nostalgia shit and people tend to like GTA Vice City radio stations instead of the game per se lol.

Never really got the hype for GTA and I think I never will. The radio's great though.

yeaaaaahhh. I really think the GTA hype train for me died during the Xbox 360 days. Guess I'm just not into being a mass shooter and a mindless ciminal.

it's a go anywhere do anything game series. It was better with cheat codes. But since there's other games now that can do the same things, you have options.

The cost is too much too fail. GTA is a symbol of one of the biggest game in the world. if it's somehow fails, it would spell doom in industry general, even more.

TBH, not a fan, but often play GTA series, just for walk, enjoying the open world and also good mods.
I never understand why people loves to mass shooting and made chaos in this series though it's the main feature (attraction) considered by most people. I play it safely, never hit people with cars unless the mission says so, driving by the law, even learnt driving nicely from it. well each to their own...

If I was asked, I'm more Yakuza series than GTA.
Well, maybe because I'm asian and happened to travels to Japan regularly these years .
