What Grocery Stores in your Country would you Recommend or would you say to avoid at all Costs in your Country, what Stores a considered High Class and wich one are more considered Ghetto in your Opinion and experience.Assuming you would meet a tourist in your country and he would need to buy some groceries ?

Aldi and Lidl are great. Alot of local grocery stores are great as well because they count on the community to survive when they have to go against big corporations like Wal-Mart, and Amazon. Whole Foods and Trader Joes are solid.

Shit places: Wal-Mart, and Target.

For Me I would say
Go to:
Rewe (Quite Good)
Lidl (Okay)
Aldi (Okay)
Wasgau (Was quite Good but its been a while since i shopped there)
Penny (But its probably also a hit or miss)
Avoid:
Netto at least the one close to me (Ghetto dirty often Drunkards outside and just not good)
Edeka is a hit or miss often with loud music and radio constantly blasting

Let's say I more of public market and Alphamart since they cheap and the vendors giving you discount if you were customer a long time.

Wal-Mart kinda sucks.

There used to be a Kroger near me, but it closed down a few years ago. It wasn't particularly great, either.

Meijer is like Wal-Mart, but if it was somewhat decent.

Never been to an Aldi.

Don't worry you either come to Aldi or Aldi Comes to you ;)

In my country there are a number of supermarkets but it may vary depending on the price and quality of the products:

Mega Depot
Super 99
Super Carnes
Super Xtra & Feria Xtra (The Most Cheapest)
Supermercado Acrux
Supermercado La Pagoda
Supermercados Rey
Supermercados Romero
El Fuerte
El Machetazo
Jumbo Market
Mr. Precio
Riba Smith (The Most Expensive)
And among others.

It's nice to see people recommend Aldi and Lidl. I prefer Aldi than Lidl because I can find more exotic stuff. I usually look for portuguese coffee as it is better than spanish one.

But then I believe by grocery stores you meant supermarkets.

In Japan, I really recommend Kaldi, they have tons of foreign stuff and very good bean coffee. Also, for not so common stuff, Gyomu is amazing, and among the regular supermarkets my favourite is Belc :)

I try and shop union, brand doesn't matter so much to me. Stores generally have the same things, it just depends on the area and the store's management, as far as how your shopping experience will go. Been to decent ones in the hood and sloppy ones in upscale areas.

Good and bad grocery stores are subjective really.
No, I don't mean a store that is basically a crack house could be good... though they have great coffee that picks you right up.

But really, like @bjork said, I have been to cheap stores like Sav-A-Lot that were excellent stores and have seen upscale places like IGA <no idea what IGA stands for and here it's overpriced name brands> that honestly I wouldn't buy toilet paper from.

It really depends on the products, the sales, and the pricing.
Of course, I don't want to shop in a store with a bunch of tweaking pill heads, but you get my point.
Most of the time, when I have to get groceries, I will hit the local Sav-A-Lot, usually an hour before closing or just as they open. (I don't like interacting with people face to face)

Marks & Spencer, Sainsburys and Waitrose are the posh ones.

Tesco and Somerfields (now extinct) used to hold the monopoly around where I live, but now Morrisons and Asda probably have the highest footfall.

I tend to favor local business(coffee shops, Tea shops, open markets, etc), for their lower prices and better quality, and at most small supermarkets and convenience stores... Not fond of getting lost on those "modern labyrinths".

See I would love that, but I don't live near a large town or city.
I'm 15 miles from the small/medium town near me and over 60 miles from a city.
Sadly, I'm stuck with the chain stores

I do a lot of commuting via walking and public transportation, some of my hangouts are two hours or more from my home, with some products, like fresh fish and seafood, i need to take a whole day of traveling.

We have a small polish supermarket in town called polita it had good stuff in and was well hidden away from the rest of the city centre so its a gem when needed.

I go to either Kroger or Aldi if I need to get groceries, I go to Walmart if I want to watch sentient garbage fight each other

you should avoid the one i work at. not because its a bad place. its not bad at all. i just want to do less work for the same pay.

In the Philippines:

Most of these are chain groceries and someone else's experience may vary. I'll just enumerate the ones I frequent and how I rate it by my own personal experience.

Mercado is pretty good.
Puregold is...rustic...but useful for finding cheap stuff.
Robinsons is fine and their mini marts located in remote areas are quite convenient but sadly, most of them usually fall short for completing your shopping list. My most shopped grocery since one mini mart is within walking distance where I live.
Dali offers unique goods from all over the country I can't find anywhere else and priced quite cheap. It's no frills though so don't forget to bring a shopping bag.
Hi-Top Supermarket for some interesting finds and also rustic.
Rustan's Supermarket if you want a good selection of imported goods and high class but quite pricey.

Walmart is a necessary evil for me. Kroger is like Walmart except slightly higher standards are way worse prices. Both should be avoided when possible.

Aldi is generally pretty good, with some solid unique item variety. Produce is never taken care of, though.

Chief is to Kroger what Kroger is to Walmart; slightly better standards, much higher prices.

When I can, I prefer to go to local IGA's. Ideally I'd like to hit up farmers' markets when possible, too.
