I think this is a crucial question to make when talking about this game. Why this was made? It feels completely uninspired, untested and irrelevant.
The game feels like a broken proof of concept made by people that really didn't care about what was going to happen with this game or life itself. The combat is very clunky, the combinations are very weird and not intuitive, you basically mash all the way through without a thought in your mind.
The story is complete generic garbage that make me think that if this game wasn't released for N64 i would think it was made with ChatGPT... Actually i saw ChatGPT make some interesting shitposts so maybe not even that

It has a start "select your name" screen where you can also select how your icon will look like. I choose to be the big legend Puke69 himself. After that i was met with a character selection screen with very generic uninspired tokusatsu-like characters that seemed to be created in those low budget porn parody titled "The Fisting Squad" and well, i obviously choose the pink magical girl titled "Cutie Chaser" that is also a botanist(?) from "Austreria"(lmao)

The gameplay consists of a 3D fighting game style similar to Tekken or Virtual Fighter(everyone wanted to be that at this time i guess) where you can knock the opponent down in many stages. You basically only have three buttons, punch, kick and guard, and you can input special moves with the analog.
The problem with this is how fucking bad it is to track you opponent, and even for your opponent to track you. Many times you will keep punching air again and again because the character refuses to turn properly.

The AI is a massive joke, you can just mash punch or kick infinitely and they will never block, never dodge and in many situations where i could have died by falling off the stage they would do me a favor and run through the edge and fall, making it a draw(the game takes a looong time to end a match after someone wins, making time for the AI to have a stroke).

But what i said about the AI is just within relation of the 8 stages. After you enter the stage 9/10(classic boss showing true form after being defeated) the game flips a giant "no u lmao" on your face and the AI start getting randomly aggro and does a lot of damage, specially their OTG attacks that basically take all your health and can't be reacted.

The last boss was seemly hard at first but then i just realized how he had a horrible defense against low kicks and his standing punches didn't reach me at most, so i could cheese him by literally baiting for his dramatic overhead dropkicks and kept pressing low kicks lol. 10 minutes of testing the boss patterns would have solved this, lazy devs

Conclusion? I'm sorry for the kid that might have brought it in the 90s, and all the people they've put in the credits as "playtesters" were 100% lying.

9/10 on the Kusometer
Could be a superb Kusoge if it was vein poppin hard, but it had a nice blend of uninteresting design, gameplay, lazy decisions and fucked AI

No fucking way i will play the rest of the characters, good luck

I saw a cart for this when I was a kid and it always stuck with me, remember thinking it looked like Power Rangers and always being interested because of that. Always heard it was rubbish, thank you for confirming that. Would still love if there was a dedicated scene for this game though or at least a tier list.
 
Ngl the character design looks pretty good i kinda get the kids getting fooled into playing this gem and hearing all the negatives of this game makes me wanna play this to experience it myself, thanks mate i finally found another game to torture myself in the future

All I can say is Amemiya Keita directed this and that's automatically a plus in my book.
 
I was trying to avoid this game since I saw this at YouTube as one of the worst fighting game. And after that it made me think that there’ll be no one brave enough to play it and tell the tale.

But then you came telling the story of this completely screwed up of a game.

Btw I almost have the same experience with Konami’s G.A.S.P. on N64.
