With the Suikoden 1+2 Remaster set to release in 2 days, there's also a mobile game in the works: "Suikoden Star Leaps" which will be tied to Suikoden V, bad news about that is it will be a gatcha. And lastly, an anime adaption of Suikoden 2 is currently in the works.

So is Konami trying to redeem themselves like Capcom did during the last gen? Because it really isn't working out for me, thus far they've only announced remakes and remasters. I hope they make an actual new game soon with those dozens of franchises that they own instead of just making another remaster and gachas.
A Suikoden 2 anime does sound neat but they probably gave it to a bad animation studio and gave them a low budget like all of these game companies do for their anime adptations so i don't have any high hopes for it.

Seemingly their angle that theyre claiming is that "all the gatcha stuff will be cosmetic and only the gameplay stuff will just be in the game" but also ever crisis said that shit and its one of the sloppiest gatcha games you can play right now

The Suikoden 1 + 2 Remaster looks absolutely awful. I'm so very, very disappointed.

I know it's modern day Konami so my expectations were in check, but they somehow didn't even meet that low bar.

As much as I like Suikoden, I'll still keep my expectation in check.
Remember, Konami is an anagram for "Na, I'm OK" which is their answer when being asked about their footing in current gamindustry.

good news ?? now worst new ever for a Suikoden fan. Seing how ASS Silent hill mobile game was where people basically bought votes to decided how the story goes the whales with most money where the once deciding how the story goes.

MOBILE games needs to die and people need to learn to quit wasting money on pointless tat. I mean I found it funny how people cry the gas price is up or eggs are expensive or how grapics cards costs shit load.

Yet people have no calms blowing money on 20 dollar skins or money to blow to unlock a new charters they don´t rely need in their game.

Here is a screen grab.

They redrew all of the environment assets but left the character sprites untouched. It looks absolutely jarring.

The text has a weird aliasing on it, as if it were AI upscaled.

The character portraits are... rough estimations of what I could only hope real artists interpreted. They have a weird shine to them, as if it were DeviantArt commissioned.

It's just so damn odd.

Wait guys I literally canceled my plans to play the series just because the remaster is coming ,what to do know should I play this or the original

Yeah no imma play remaster I just checked it has maps

The remaster looks fine to me, though I never played the original games. I bought the remaster and intend on playing it after finishing Metaphor and Mother 3. I was going to start Dragon Quest 3 Remaster but that game looks better visually, so I'm thinking I'll enjoy the presentation of the Suikoden Remasters more if I play them before the DQ3 Remaster.

I think it looks absolutely terrible and it is rather overpriced. You can get the first two games on PSN for $5-$8 each, or you know, yo ho ho them.

But you can run in the first game in the remaster. Yay I guess?

I'd personally play the originals.

I wish Konami's mobile presence was all as good as its mobile baseball game, which is probably the best one there's ever been.

Played the remaster abit. It was fine. And this is coming from someone who played these games multiple times over since 97-ish. Only downside is that it's nearly 7gb if you're going digital, thx to these HD backgrounds. The 2 PSX games are not even 1gb together. So if space is the issue if you're not getting them physically, that's the big downside imo.
