At first I had no intent to interact with the community but I felt bad about leeching. It seems pretty nice here anyways. I am not a stranger to forums but it's always nice to meet new people.
I actually never had a console growing up. I grew up on PC games and only really started getting into console games as an adult. So it's not nostalgia, retro games really do just interest me more...
I guess my favourite systems are Mega Drive and its addons, PSX, PS2, and GameCube, in no particular order. Fifth and sixth gen are the absolute peak of the industry's creativity and fourth gen has a lot of games that are just pure fun, in addition to some great pixel art and music. My first experience with an emulator was using Kega Fusion to play Sonic ROM hacks as a kid.
I hope to start making my own games in the future and retro games have proven to be a massive wealth of inspiration and research material so far. It's great that there are sites like these dedicated to preserving them. I look forward to giving back to the community :)
