I was reading Ryu Murakami’s novel Popular Hits of the Showa Era, and when a character mentioned Sailor Moon, I was really surprised, because it was not an otaku-adjacent book at all. I bet ol’ Murakami was a fan (or liked gooning his little head off to it, perhaps).

I've always wondered, how is it to be in therapy? What do you actually do on a therapy?

When i was younger i went to therapy over anger issues but i barely remember what went on when the door of that office closed behind me. Years later i realized i had no anger issues, i was just being misunderstood and people kept pushing my buttons.

There's different types of therapies, each with their own methodology for approaching problems. Right now I'm on a Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Usually you talk about your week, or month and any outstanding social/emotional event, then some tests to have some topics to start with. Then you start working out problems, triggers, topics, etc that perhaps trigger your depression, anger or depression.

i was semi-internalized on a therapy center on 2023. Is was like going to a school for sad people. We usually only stay there on the mornings, they called it "Hospital de Día". There was also a much more heavy internalization that was 24/7 that i almost was internalized too, but is semi-voluntary and the idea of not having contact with my cat honestly scared me.
